Hey all... have been busy riding and have been off the sight for a while... heres where Im at. I have put about 1000 miles on my Attak since boosting it... love it... Im all ready thinking about more boost... but thats another post.

Few things are strange...to me anyhow. Any insight would be appreciated. Im running 7#'s at sea level on pump gas... which I know ... some of you will say is deadly... but its the set up I was given to run from a very reputable dealer in Maine who has been running boosted sleds for years.... and on top of that... Ive put 1000 problem free miles on it. I ride aggressive trail by the way... anyhow .. Im a believer.

Now... cruising at mid range...anything below 7K RPM's the sled is a lil on the rich side..around 11 on A/F ... anything above 7K RPM's it gets instantly lean.... will get up over 13... will see some quick spikes to 15. I am constantly on and off the throttle with the riding type I do...so it bounces around a lot....but its still scary to see. I am assuming this is the programming of the GEMS controller.... I tried to richen it up a bit but didnt see much difference.

Which level of the GEMS should I be adjusting to lean it out below 7K RPM's??

Which level to adjust to richen it up above 7K RPM's???

Is the GEMS even that adjustable??.... or is this going to be the same adjustment and I have to live with it?? It seems to be 2 different control levels... because it is a noticeable spike... and it happens right at 7KRPMs every time. I understand the basic control of the GEMS and how it works... just looking for which level to try adjusting.

Idle is rich as well.... 11 or below..

WOT is 12.2-12.4...which is right where I need to be.... so Im told.

Lastly... traction is an issue. It wont even think about hooking up until 60-70MPH in hard packed trails. I only have 108 studs (2 up the middle) which I knew from the get go was not enough.... just looking for some insight on what some other guys are running for patterns to get traction... Mine are Woodys 1.325" and 1 1/4" ripsaw track....

As always... any comments are appreciated!! Cant wait to get back home and on the sled!! ;)!

You may have to adjust the blue / green boost fueling, then re adjust the red and green seperately, it might be a spot where there is some boost but the boost fuel adder in the box isn't high enough.

I would shoot for 13 ish idle, 13;s in the mid range with lost boost, as boost comes up to wot afr should taper off, I would like to see 12:0 as lean as it gets at WOT.

you most likely can get 93 at the pump can't you. That is what I have run for 2 years @ 7lbs.

Its making 5 or 6#'s right about there.... so there is def boost present. I will try this though. I will see what I can get.

I wish that were the case.... there are some spots up north I can get it.... but mostly 91 is the best I can muster.... there are some spots where 89 is all that is available. I have run a tank of 89 through it because I had no choice.... it was that or walk ... and went easy... all was ok.

Isnt 13ish lean in the midrange? I am seing 13.5 at 4500-4800 rpm

0 lbs boost = 13.0
5 lbs boost = 12.5
10 lbs and over = 11.8-12.0

Thanks rxrider.... I will lean out the idle a bit... easy enough. Sounds like Im pretty close otherwise.

Yeah you're close :-)
Will be riding around in Maine from February 13th and the week after, looking forward to visit Vacationland :-)

I wish I was... I will be home around the 26th if you will still be around... I am working until then (I work offshore). You will be impressed with the riding we have in Maine now... we have lots of snow on the ground and the trails are the best I have seen them in years. What part of Maine will you be riding?? Far northern regions are still in need of a bit more snow... which is strange.... everywhere else is great.

I will be top north up at Eagle Lake close to border town of Fort Kent. I'm flying in to Quebec and go by car to Eagle Lake. OK, then we venture down south. How is snow conditions in Bangor area?
Where do you ride?

Normally thats where I ride....we usually trailer to Presque Isle and ride from there. This year has been strange.... up north hasn't got near as much snow as further south. The best riding Ive seen so far is around Patten, Maine..... Greenville and Moosehead Lake region is very good.... and western Maine ... Jackman area is very good as well. I haven't been any farther north because I heard the snow wasnt as good. Check out www.mesnow.com ...... they have a "trail conditions" page on the left side of the home page..... it has some very good info and is normally up to date. The guys that are out grooming the trails are the ones that update the page.

Thankd mmaman207, great info. I'll check out the site. Nice :-)

Enjoy your trip... some of the best riding in years right now from what my buddies back home are telling me.

A round trip in Maine is not out of the question at all, we'll see where my buddy Bob aka Hondo takes us, he's a great guide.
