MPI Stage 2 help!!!!

All installed first ride and has a bad low end sputter and surge. Had the error code for TORS so I jumped it out. Lost the code but the surging was still present. Very hard to ride on the trail, surging and sputtering just off idle and at low speeds. Seemed rich on the A/F also. Finally got to the lake and got to about 3/4 throttle, and on let off the Intercooler blew off the throttle bodies. Got that fixed then it happened again. WTF???? I think they may have been overtight. Got that handled, I think..., Still had the surging, and hit it in my driveway this time blew the TB off the engine. I CANT EVEN SEE THOSE CLAMPS!!! I now have a huge job getting them back on.

The blow off valve seems to be working...

Can anyone assit me as to the cause and solution is???

The BOV is not working for it to that. What BOV are you running and how do you have it set up?

Sounds like that is the root of your issue. Also how much boost are you set up for?

Its the MPI I believe its got a 10# spring in it I backed it all the way off after blowing the intercooler off for the second time. Supposed to be 16#'s or so but havent even gotten close to a full throttle pass...

I think it might be installed wrong. I would call MPI to double check how its connected. That is the double bypass valve right?

Its not blowing off any boost or very very little.

running my stage 1 at max i blew the throttle bodys off the eng had to mod the clamps , also clean the rubber and use some hairspray on all the joints

What about the bad low end surging and stumbling. the engine actually stalls!

Have you decompressed the motor???

head shim or low compression pistions - are you running race gas or pump gas

Stock compression. Race fuel.

I blew my trottle bodies off the engine a few times and they are not fun to put on in the cold! I took out the spacers in the clamps grinded them down half way and never had a problem since. I did have some trouble just off idle first when i installed my sc and it was the altitude setting on the gems.

I have it set at 8 I believe. Im at 1600 ft

i am at sealevel and my first gems i had it at 8 then mpi sent me the new updated box and i believe im at 6.5 or 7 now. try taking it down .5 at a time just see if it makes a difference.

thanks. i will try it. the engine seems to go super fat just off idle to bout 5000 rpm. wants to stumble and stall
