Like I said before. This is only the MPI trail turbo kits with the electronic boost controller. It's a selenoid valve that uses duty cycling to control the waste gate. During start up it runs some sort of cycle. It also clicks a couple times when you turn the sled off. In reality it is doing this all the time when running the sled. You just can't hear it over the engine at that point. Then again I've never heard another trail turbo kit at startup. Maybe both of ours are wrong. Mine hold boost just fine though.

Yes that is the boost solenoid doing its start up sequence. Completely NORMAL. The 2015 Trail Kits had the EABC. New for 2016 all the kits got changed to a All Elevation Kit. So all 2016 kits have EABC.
Well thanks for that Matt!!!! I knew the 15's did not sound like that. by the way how ya been ? I missed you this year at haydays. I have Allen building me a monster out of the 14 and putting the MPI Stage 1 into my new 15 for trail riding.

Yes they should re-name them ticklers not turbos!!! I had to go up 3 helmet sizes to fit the perma-grin and the blister on the go button thumb has recovered for this season

I agree with everyone, this noise the EABC , both of our 2015 do this for a few seconds on startup and shut down. It seams loud in the garage like on the video but I can tell you its hardly noticeable once your outside and or on the trail with your buddies. I don't think any of our riding buddies have ever noticed our sleds doing this at least they never said nothing. I like to hear it, I know its working then at startup.

Ok, this is interesting. Since I'm about to get a turbo from Yamaha, do you think I'm going to get the update or will I have the noisy solenoid?

Your new 2016 MPI Kit will have the EABC just like the 2015 trail kits had last year. Its not as noisy as this is being made out to be. You hear the EABC solenoid at key "on" and "off" for like 2-3 seconds then its silent. All normal and its a good thing to hear, means its working and getting power like it should be.

Do you have to wait until it completes its cycle or can you turn the key immediately? I usually wait for the fuel pump to cycle anyway, just curious. I've noticed mine starts better if I cycle the fuel pump twice before starting the first time. Once warm, I will let it cycle 2/3 of the way through before starting. So far, that habit seams to produced better results in clean starts without backfire/kickbacks/coughs...

Like yamahaguys said its not that load when its out side and its just for a couple seconds after you turn the key on. we usually wait for it to cycle all the way through but it starts the same if you wait for it or just start right after you turn the key. My video was really load because it took it out in our trailer.Do you have to wait until it completes its cycle or can you turn the key immediately? Don't misunderstand, I don't care about a normal noise. I'm worried about function. Thanks for answering my question. Much appreciated!

I don't cycle the key on and off. I turn on and let the fuel pump run for a second or two and then start it, I don't let off the key until I know its started, which always pretty quick anyway. There is not "exact" procedure for starting the sled that "critical" that I have seen anywhere but all guys have there opinion how it should be done. Its a snowmobile we are starting here guys its not a 747 Boeing jet.

Well, I'm a pilot and like my checklists
But I agree. I'm just trying to find a procedure that prolongs my starter...

Exactly how i start my 14 and how he usually starts his 15I don't cycle the key on and off.
