Trail Supercharger kit on XTX - racing 800 E-Tec

SteelerJim,
I have the split rail ski's on my XTX with dual 6" carbides and really like them. Also put on a mcx180 turbo and headed back north next week for trip #5 for the year. I have about 1900 miles on the split rails for the year and they are well worth it.

Not to hijack but I noticed both you and the doo were running splitrails. Do the both of you think they're worth the money?

Yes, we are both happy with them but we are primarily very aggressive trail riders. While all the Doo guys think their sleds handled perfectly out of the crate he saw an immediate improvement with the Split Rails and has loved them from day 1. For me, it took a little getting used to and initially I was unconvinced, but since about the 2nd weekend of riding I've loved them. I will say they do NOT float in powder as advertised though so if you get off trail in much powder I'd stay away from them.

Can you keep up to your buddy's perfect handleing doo on twisty trails? What did you have to do to for clutch set up since you supercharged it?

LOL - the Doos can't keep up with ME! Seriously, I wait at every intersection when I'm leading through the twisties cuz they can't keep up, but if you say that too much it offends the Doo guys and they get really nasty! I had to stop posting on another topic here a few days ago because of that (the "2014" string on the General Yamaha Discussion page)! It just kills 'em that a "tank" Yamaha can outperform them with a few tweaks!

My buddy did the install as I'm not a mechanic, but he added weight (more than what was recommended because it was over-revving a little), changed the spring, and changed the ramps. Obviously the top gear was changed too. From what he says it was pretty straightforward and simple, and everything fit perfectly as advertised.

I'm real glad to hear that. I still need to do some tweaking with mine yet before I can say that. I've made some real good progress in the handleing dept. It's just been slow going with the horrible non winter last year (190 miles) and the slightly better 270 mile winter this year.

I would love to see some pics of your engine/supercharger areas of the sled

I'll try to get some pics this weekend and post them.

Yamaporn you gonna be riding the hill this saturday if so would like to ride with you and a few of my friends, let me know :sled1:

While you're taking photos. Take some of those dejected doo riders faces after you beat their asses. That would be a gas

Yeah, I love it! There's always an excuse. "I couldn't hook up." "I got a bad start." "Conditions are bad." Funny!

Yeah it's definitely got some serious pull. Hoping to test it again this weekend on a lake somewhere, but still pretty happy with the 107 on gps so far.
