yeah, as I said i had a front bearing shot causing the track to slip a little under acceleration, and also the conditions were not ideal. it definitely has more. XTX's have always been slower than the shorty's though - pushing all that extra mass and weight.

every xtx ive ridden is faster on top compared to my rtx. by 8-10 mph too... Have you changed gearing on yours at all?? That just doesnt seem rightYamaporn said:XTX's have always been slower than the shorty's though - pushing all that extra mass and weight.Tyloooor said:only 107mph??? you would think it would be faster than that....I always thought the XTX were faster than the short tracks, due to the steep track angle.....
My 12 XTX top speed was 100 mph before the mcx 180 turbo, gear change and Ulmer clutch. We hit 112 and 115 now, I let off at 112. So I'm not sure what the top end is now. May find out next week.

yes changed top gear but have not had a chance to hammer it since changing the bearing. Don't ride too many lakes so I need the right conditions to really see what it will do. I'm certain i can get 112-115 with the sled fixed. Also, 107 is on the GPS sustained point-to-point, NOT on the Speedo which we all know is off by 5-6 minimum and will show a speed if you just touch it for a second.

trust me, if your speedometer on the XTX says your doing 100, you're really not doing any more than 94 on a gps. On my 107 run the speedo said 112!

i agree around are area you dont need any taller gears and 100+ is few and far between with the amount of corners we have and the almost always bad trails because of all the traffic...B'ham lake and the rez is about the only place you would need more gear!Yamaporn said:trust me, if your speedometer on the XTX says your doing 100, you're really not doing any more than 94 on a gps. That's interesting I've never run against another Nytro shorty so I can't say from experience, just figured the extra turning mass and weight would cost on the top end. Either way the addition of the S/C has been a ton of fun, and the difference is dramatic. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Not only have I gained at least 15mph on the top end with just the 4.5 pounds, but it's quicker all the way up and the throttle response is instant. She screams off the line! The loss of fuel mileage is minimal - maybe 1 mpg at most.

If you don mind me asking what was the cost all said and done?
Do you do trail riding? If so is the extra power managable?

I found a dealer online that sold me the kit at a pretty good discount, plus no tax since it was an out of state deal. So all in was around $3500. Not bad at all.

Yeah, it's very manageable although I do notice you need to get out of the throttle a little earlier - almost seems like the engine braking is less somehow although that doesn't make sense. I like it better in the turns, both getting out of th throttle and then back in it too.

Not to hijack but I noticed both you and the doo were running splitrails. Do the both of you think they're worth the money?
