I found the new Polaroid XS10 action camera on sale on Amazon for under $50. It does 720 @ 30 fps. The mounts that came with it are pretty flimsy so I picked up the Go Pro Grab Bag of mounts and epoxied a mount to the back of the waterproof case and attached it to my helmet. For $50 I think it goes a good job - not great - but good enough. Here are some sample videos from the first ride. The red ring at the top of the video is my fault. I need to move the camera down a bit in the waterproof mount.

I got about 1.5 hrs of recording time on the battery. That was at -19 C.

Stupid question time. Can you start and stop it easily while riding? I like the low cost concept but would not want one solid long video. Would like to turn on and off for cool sections.

Vids look pretty good considering the $50 dollar price tag ;)!
