My Viper L-TX SE review

I also felt it would be a good phazer replacement, the only think I didn't like was the front didn't want to "wheelie" like my phazer does and I'm so use to blipping throttle to lift the skis over stuff or being able to lift one ski at will. We did get a chance to get "airborne" over a plowed road on the lake and it felt VERY balanced, just like a Phazer in the air. The XTX I rode must have had too much air in the floats as I couldn't get it to bottom on NASTY rollers and felt too stiff too me and just didn't feel as good as my Phazer through the same stretch. My phazer would bottom a touch through the same stretch but I carried more speed though the "whoop" section as my Phazer stayed 100% planted. Sounds like my Bro-in-law is ordering an XTX so I'll get some seat time next winter and will be able "set it up" and really try one. Also I was so use to sitting up front on my phazer that I kept wracking my knees on the cowling.

Glad you liked it Yamahas I really value your opinion.
How was the "balance" of the sled front to rear?
Did Phazer feel lighter or heavier in front?
How did the brake feel compared to Phazer"
Was the guage easy to see while riding?
Are the different Viper models coming with different length bar risers?
Is it true Yamaha electrical connectors are used?
Is the plastic painted?

I still cannot believe I have never seen one in person!

It felt pretty balanced, I did not get a chance to get it in the air but it did not feel front heavy. Probably because it has more power.
The brakes felt nice and light, I like the idea of them being on the drive-shaft. That way if the chain goes you still have brakes.
Gauge was easy to see.
The XTX will have a taller riser, they had an XTX riser on the LTX.
From what I can tell, in the book they gave me they look like Yamaha electrical connections, but I can't be sure.
I am not sure on the plastics.

Suspension settings will have alot to do with getting the skis to lift.

They said the XTX will feel stiffer then the LTX, I found it worked well for the small and bigger bumps.

So yamahas, which one did you feel worked well for the small and bigger bumps...the XTX or LTX?

My bad, not very clear.

They said the XTX was a bit sitffer then the LTX.

I found the LTX to work very well in the small bumps but I still was unable to find the bottom of the suspension on the bigger bumps. I rode the LTX SE.

damn that apex looks familar....

Thanks for taking the time to post your pix's and your very detailed write up...AWESOME.

Glad to see you JUST ENJOYED RIDING IT, Im sure those who are getting these are going have a Blast Rippin Around on them. There are a Fabulous Looking Ride
:sled1:

Thanks!

There is one thing that I find interesting. I ride a Phazer and the 2 guys I was trying the viper with ride an Apex. The Phazer and Apex are pretty much as opposite and as sleds can get and we all seemed to love riding the viper. I think that says a lot about the Viper. It is a blast to ride!

Kind of disappointed to hear this is a Phazer replacement, going by the power my Nytro makes and this sled with the same engine and being 20 or so lbs. lighter I would have expected a LOT more.
