Has everyone else done this so they know how to get to everything should you need to in a hurry along side the trail. I stripped all plastic and headlight assembley, air box to gain access to battery, fuses, spark plugs,etc.....

15th try

Thanks Convert-pretty sure thats what I have been trying-must be a problem with file-after submitting I get "general error" for conformation. File size is 2.05MB-- Then says "tried to upload empty file"

Mrplow is right on the money....it's no longer a case of opening the hood and gaining access to everything! Better to learn the tricks in the warmth of your garage....I STILL haven't figured out exactly how to remove the air box.... :o|

I'm going to be taking mine apart to paint the hood, tank cover, front arms, grills & windshield!

So I'll have a good idea when I'm done of how everything goes!!!

I spent a considerable amount of time with my Attak taken apart over the past two days; again, I will STRONGLY suggest that everyone do the same before hitting the trails. It is not simple and easy the first time.

If you plan on ever changing your plugs on the trail, fogetaboutit! Not a chance. In fact, I would be willing to bet that many owners will not be able to perform this simple task on their own at any time, with this sled.

If you should have a fuse blow at midnight when it's 20 below, you'll be swearing up a storm. Not only is the airbox somewhat difficult to remove, it's even more difficult to get it back in place...when your fingers are cold and it's dark, you'll be welcoming the old tow rope.

Now, do I really think that reliability will be an issue with these sleds? Nope. These are finely crafted pieces of equipment! However, the days of easy maintenance are numbered. Just think back to the way cars have evolved and how much real maintenance the average Joe can perform now....as opposed to 25 years ago. We're headed that way.

The only time I've needed to lift the hood on the RX series was to dry off my no-fog mask and even that was overkill. And the same will be said for the Apex line up.Although I still carry my tool pouch and emergency kit.
