Sorry Vinnie, I wasn't paying attention, and I split one of them. I should have taken all the bolts to the wire wheel first, because I had all of them painted. There was too little clearance without wire wheeling the bolt shanks. $3.11 bushing, $6.00 shipping... go figure.
I do have an air riveter, for some reason I started without it. Must have though I was tough or something.. Couldn't use my hand for anything else afterwards....

- None, looking now!
You got the replacement from Allan then? Them bushings are a tight fit to begin with. Not much room for error. lol
I'm sure your trying to rush with everything else you have going on. Take her easy man. lol

Not sure what I did, but I think the sharp edge of the bolt dug into the bushing when I went to put it in, and tore the back half of the bushing. Most fo them went in pretty tight, so I carefully used a plastic mallet to tap them in. The last one got me!
I need to figure out how much play should be in the a-arms? After getting them on, I noticed there was about 1/16th to 1/8 worth of "slide" that the arms would travel front to back on the bolts. I looked at the diagrams for assembly, and it doesn't look like there is supposed to be any shims or anything, and I put the washers and nuts on each bolt when I tore it apart, so I know I'm not missing anything, but I don't remember being able to move the arms front to back any before...???

Cool, thought I missed something.
I wonder if there would be a benifit to shimming them one way or the other? Poor man's caster adjustment?

I was just thinking about it..
DId you put the old plastic washers on each side of the bushings on the A-arms??
Even with them in.. its still pretty loose..

Mine didn't have any plastic washers. Only the plastic washers that cover the front of the bushings, but nothing in between the buhing/bulkhead and the a-arm. The exploded views I have don't show anything in there either... Shouldn't have been too difficult, but stranger things have happened!!!??

Putting the rear bulkhead bushings in REVERSE (with the flange on the a-arm side of the bulkhead rather than the engine side) will tighten up the front to back "slop" you have with the a-arms.

Thats how I did put them in. I saw a thread here about using the bolts to drive them in. I'll measure the play, but I think I"m going to find some plastic washers at the hardware store to tighten it up. If the upper and lower arms move in opposite directions, I would think it could affect the caster!

A few updates..Its at least back on the ground now. We tried to fire it up Sunday night, but found the starter relay was corroded and wont send power to the rest of the sled, so....
We couldn't work on the sled today, so we screwed around and flamed the golf cart!
