Greetings all,
I haven't been around lately (focused on street bikes).
Anyway... at the routine dealer maintenance, the front pivot arm of the rear skid was found to be cracked.
Along with several wheels (bearings), hyfax, jackshaft and driveshaft bearing replacement, oil change etc... I had the pivot arm replaced.
The dealer (Culley's Ranch in Lancaster) is telling me that the Yamaha Y.E.S. warrantee won't cover replacement.
I am asking if you have had your pivot arm replaced, please reply to this thread. I am in contact with Yamaha Customer service and it would be helpful to know if there are others that have had their arms replaced under the Y.E.S warrantee.
Thanks a ton in advance!

My good friend, co-worker, and riding buddy just had his front W arm replaced under Y.E.S. on his '07 Attak GT. I told him where to look and sure enough his was broken.
The servicing dealer was Port Yamaha.
If you called Yamaha Customer Assistance. The regional rep will likely have something to say to your dealer about not wanting to run the repair through Yamaha's warranty program.

I am not unreasonable... but I think this arm should be replace... especially since there has been a new version released!! what does that tell you!
Thanks again!

Nope not covered on my friends attak nor my apex. We tried . Maybe some dealers can somehow sneak it through ?FormulaPro said:Greetings all,

2006 RTX covered, even after I had it powder coated. You need a new dealer.

Time for the Beef-up-kit!!
Yes, Yami replaced my W-arm on my '07, discovered it was busted when replacing my broken transfer rod.
But the year before that they refused to replace my cracked rails. They were cracked in the same spot as everybody elses, right at the rear scissor bolt. Pissed me off because the Rep. claimed abuse from bottoming, but anybody with a brain can figure-out bottoming doesn't induce stress at that point where the crack forms.
And my 120lb wife's exact same sled has cracked rails in the same spot. She never bottoms the susp.
My dealer told me it depends on the time of year, in the heat of winter when claims are high they really try to deny as many claims as possible. When claims go down in the spring they seem to approve more.
