Bought a used Viper. Guy misplaced the manual. How do I change the belt? Did a search on here and Google with no results. Coming off Doos my whole life. Hope it's as easy as they are. Thanks in advance.

its not easy thats why i put both palms on the helix, and grab the out sheave with my fingers and squeeze while turning my palms clock wise. i find that the easiest.... once the sheaves start to move your golden

I consider myself a pretty competent mechanic. Work on all my own stuff. I can't for the life of me budge that sheave. And u need about a 10 inch drill bit to remove the 2 rivets that hold the clutch cover on.

I put Rich's Motorsports Belt Change tool for SR Viper on my 2 Vipers. Wow, did this come in handy when my starter blew and I needed to take the belt off to tow it. All you do is screw in the key and it opens the clutch. Well worth the money and very easy to put in yourself.

I usually twist the sheave by reaching through the belt. then pushing in on the helix while I push the belt down on top of the secondary. Push it in far enough and belt literally falls out no need for any tools. I don't have big hands so its easy for me that way.
That nytro video is very helpful. Sledshot did it.
