NEED HELP CHANGING OIL ON MY RX1

[RX1-M]

I am doing an oil change on my rx1 and have removed the oil filter and drained the oil tank and oil pan. Now my service manual says to put 2.1 qts of oil in the oil tank but it does not say where to put the rest of the oil ? it says 3.2 qts with oil filter change but then it says total amount of 4.0 qts what does this mean....??? do i put another 1.1 qts or 2 more qts in.. and where do I put it? thanks

There is a cap on the valve cover buy the spark plugs. That will fill the motor directly.

Add 2 quarts to the external tank. Start sled & let it run for about 5 minutes. this will move the oil into the the engine making room to add another quart in to the reservoir.

This motor is a dry sump motor. It doesn't store oil in the motor. It pumps it from the tank. Follow Turk's advice.
