Hey guys,
I have an 09 venture gt and I'm trying to get the headlight assembly off to get to battery and can't seem to get it.
I took out the two screws on the sides but it won't budge. The manual says to pull up and towards the handle bars but it won't release. Any suggestions...is there another screw? Or do I need to push towards front of machine?
Thx

Unfortunately, you posted this in the wrong section. Venture Lite/MP is totally different than the GT so we can't help you but I asked a moderator to move your post to the proper section.

Yes... the dash part has to come off with the 12 volt plug with and ignition, then push towards the front after taking the 2 10mm bolts out, one on each side... they come on from the side.

While on the seat or similar position grasp the headlight pod and pull straight back towards you. Or from the front of the machine push towards the back. It only has to go back an inch or a bit more for the two tabs on the headlight pod to come out of the spaces where they go in the frame piece.
Edit = sorry guys. For some reason I didn't see the posts already added.

If you look at the tabs on the metal brackets... it has to go forward, towards the airbox, correct?

Yes, to remove the Pod it has to go towards the front of the sled. Sorry again......

I remove the 4 bolts holding the headlight mount to the frame and lift everything straight up!
Just replaced the battery on my vector Tuesday evening, have always done it this way, will check out the 2 bolts on the side next time though.

Well if it has that extra windshield bar, that might be the easiest. Otherwise you would have to push the rubber boots up and remove the Allen head bolt, one on each bar.
