I want to install fuel shut-off valves in my 05 RX1.
I can't seem to find any straight thru that are for more than 350cc motors.
I would prefer to use the shut-off type as opposed to the Motion Pro disconnect.
Can anyone help me locate some valves.

Try a local snowblower/lawn tractor equipment store, or one that services said items. I found mine there. If I recall, mine were Briggs & Stratton brand name.

Although they weren't straight-thrus, this is what I used.

Never had a problem that shutoff valves would preclude. My personal view is: Why add another thing that could go wrong.

Think about it this way... two fuel lines = 2 valves = 700cc.
Except that this is a 4-stroke, so fuel consumption is lower than that of a 700cc 2-stroke, so those valves will be more than enough.

I have seen these shutoff valves on a Vector before. Why are guys installing them? The guy with the vector said his crankcase filled with fuel. In my mind that is a bad inlet needle on a carb which shouldn't be bandaided with a shutoff valve. Please let me know your input.

Yeah I have heard a lot of guys asking about this and I have trailered 10s of thousands of miles with full tanks and have never had a problem. My 05 had them installed when I bought it and I have never shut them off. my 03 and 05 are trailered every weekend from December 1st (if snow) till March 31st (if snow) 300 miles each way to the UP and several times to Yellowstone with full tanks without a single problem.

I think that most of the problems are with older 2 strokes with slide carbs. And if your needles are closed during transport nothing should get through. The only fuel available to leak into the cylinders is in the bowls and if that is getting in the shutoffs further back the line will do nothing to prevent that.

I have never flooded any of my sleds when trailering since I started sledding in the early 80s. I would say that this mod is not necessary based on close to 30 years of sledding and trailering. I'm not saying that flooding could never happen when trailering, but I have never had it happen to me.
