told the dealer about my recent ride and the noises i heard from under the tunnel. seems like the limiter straps do their job under certain conditions and thats the noise i hear.
as far as my SRX700, i wont part with it.
seems like i get more attached to my motorcycles and snowmobiles than i do with my women.
I had a 1992 V-MAX motorcycle
( it outlasted the second wife )
Now I have a 2004 Road Star Warrior
Im keeping my 1998 SRX-700
and I just got my 2006 Apex GT

I agree, I misread your post. Sorry buddy.yamahey said:Yes Mighty, you give them priority, but if you have a Yamaha franchise you cannot tell someone with a valid warranty that you won't fix it. If you buy a GMC any authorized dealer will fix it under warranty. And why would you not fix it if you get paid. Next time he will by from you. But, my point is you can't refuse to do the work. Might take longer until you get to it, but you will do it.

Thanks.I'm gonna drive to buffalo I quess.I'm gonna call tomarrow. Thanks guys.I'm pretty hot about the whole deal now.I work for a dogde dealer and we would never be able to tell a customer that we can't do you warr work. The factory would be all over the dealer.

Changing out the shock is a 15 min job max.. Hardest part is getting the shock..
They were on back order but mine came in two weeks ago.. (can you believe they list for $1800 u.s.)
You shouldnt even be able to compare the ride of your apex to a srx..

Thats funny why dont you buy a short track Ski-dud?? Seems you like them thats why you bought a GT right???????(its a short track) Thats your biggest mistake IMO is buying a short track sled if you would have bought a Attack>>(long track) you would be happy maybe now??????????????????? :ORCGodfatherPC said:We'll my selling dealer don't want to mess with it.He said never heard of a problem and be wasting my time driving out. We'll looks like I'm we are done with yamaha.I've bought 5 sled in last 5 years My dad bought 6 and my uncle has bought 11 in last 10 years. We'll we are done dealing having to fight to get any warr work done.

Guys, take it where you bought or get what you get. I was in the auto business 29 years. Our customers came first then non customers where worked in later, we tryied to take care of everybody. Good business is to take care of your customers that bought from you. They just plain come first. Same way in the snowmobile business. You will get the best service where you bought your sled. They want you back. If they give you poor service, buy at another dealer next time. Its not that they do not want to take care of you. Most places are very busy and are trying to get thier customers back on the trails again. One of the largest Dealers in the world (here in Michigan) will tell you if you bought it from us we will give you priority. If you bought it else where, 2 week wait period. Good business, take care of the guy that buys from you, he comes first, period. If you shop for the best price, more times than not, you end up paying for it. I live 2.5 hours from my dealer. I tryed several times to buy locally, poor customer service and attitude. Just my 2 cents.

Sorry guy.I'm also in the car busness for 21 year now.I also tried taking it back to my selling dealer and they didn't want to work n it either.I came from a 2000 srx 700 triple with olins suspention and loved the sled.I was hoping that when I bought a new sled I would ride better over the bumps.I was gonna buy an attack and then I saw the GT with olins I thought I couldn't go wrong.I'd have electric start ,reverse, more suspention and wasn't sure I'd like the 4 stroke motor witch i fell in love with.
I didn't think it would be such a problem getting the rear suspetion fixed. The rear ohlins shock is blown out.I took the sled to a guy that works on rear suspetion on sleds. That also races. He is the guy that said to get it under warr. He said there is oil leaking out of the shock and said there most likly has water in the shock and it's freezing up.
I didn't care if the dealer has the slead for 3 months.I just wanted it fixed .I don't think thats much to ask for.
The suspention guy will fix it for me but if for some reason I have a major problem with it like motor or something big I don't want to have to deal with it.
It shouldn't be like this. These things cost as much as a cheap car.If you car breaks down you can take to any dealer for warr work and I know most dodge dealer will take it in with one call.

So make that phone call to Yamaha corporate and complain to them. Go explain your situation to one of the local guys. Tell them what's going on and that if they treat you right, you'll buy your next sled from them. Sure you may have to wait for service the first couple of times, that should ease up after showing some loyalty. Talk to the owner of your selling dealer and/or those local shops. Being in the auto industry should impower you in this situation to the point that you know how the system works.

We'll thanks.I went to anouther dealer out here I'll give a name if they fix me up.I talk to the owner for the last hour.He could believe what i told him about tring to get this sled fix.He took me on tour have his busness and showed me the shop real nice guy.He told me to drop it of anytime and to go see him and he would take care of what ever i needed.Thats all I wanted. If I still don't like it I will buy a new sled from them.I love everthing about the sled except the problems with the rear suspetion. When I was down there I didn't even like the looks of the new skidoo's.
I'm sorry If I sound like a wine #*$&@ but I've been tring to get a dealer to look at it for 2 weeks now and no one wanted anything to do with it.
Thanks for all the advice and wish me luck.

Well its is not your imagination that the er ohlins shocks are blowing out if you ride hard,my buddy has the GT and on one of our last rides when my sled was still an attak we were both bottoming out hard until he blew his out completely,we left it in caribou with my dealer who he did not buy his sled from, and yes john at garys yamaha has warrentied both his ripped seat cover (from ice build up) and his shock,as of this writing he is still waiting for the ohlins,as it has been on backorder, but my point is he bought his sled from reynolds motorsports in buxton maine, but we were just up in caribou riding so we left it with john, very good guy and he had no problem doing the work, and i would bet reynolds would have done the work too,now caribou is 5.5 hrs from our house and i went up there to buy our sleds because of such good service, why would 2 hrs seem like so far to go to get a good dealer, its such a short season, that the 5-6 hrs drive is worth it to make sure things get done in timely manner, hell N.Y> is not even that far, come to sanford maine, wilderness sports here in sanford would work on it,ask for stan they are nice folks, worth the drive up interstate 95 from boston..
ps good luck with your doos as my sister n law sell doos and i dont buy from them for same reasons you are going to go try them..

I'm glad it looks like you're on the right track. Hopefully this guy treats you right. If he doesn't, it's his loss.
Good luck!

Glad to see everything has worked out sometimes its like anything else if at 1st you dont succeed try and try again! Some of the dealers are really lame and are too busy or maybe you just talk to the wrong people there.... glad you didn't give up, its really not yamahas fault ...maybe the dealer has some issues is all.GodfatherPC said:Crewchief47 said:So make that phone call to Yamaha corporate and complain to them.
