Dealer has yet to hear about any updates on the Mono RA (cable protector, W-arm bushings)

Does anyone have the part numbers for the updates?

I do not have part numbers but I have the fix. You should contact your dealer.

My dealer in Green Bay had no clue there was even a problem let alone a fix!!! Is there a Tech bulletin???? I just ordered a new boot for mine and it probably won't be here till sometime in 08., since they are on back order. Mine only has a small rip in the boot right now. Is there something I can do to prevent it from becoming worse?

Did you see the pictures I posted in another thread?? If you dont have the part to protect it, I wouldnt change it.

I've had mine fixed. I don't know the part numbers either, but Yamaha sent the parts to my dealer "with my name" on them.

The boot protector is simply a bolt on piece that somewhat protects the boot (my cable broke for the first time after it was installed :o| ).

The bushing is the same part number apparently, but it's a different color than the originals in my sled. I don't know if it is actually updated as mine seems to be wearing out again (doesn't seem quite as quickly). I think they are going to install a 3rd set of bushings on my sled tomorrow (it's at the dealer right now having a bunch of things fixed).

Mine is getting a new cable with protector, should be picking up Friday. Will post number if it is on invoice. The dealer had heard nothing about updated bushings though.

Picking up sled Friday, new cable not installed yet as mechanic found all bushings in W arm shot with 1,275 miles. He ordered the new ones which he said are steel instead of aluminum and are a warranty item just like the cable. Told him I was riding it this weekend, will have updated items installed next week and provide any part numbers I can get.

Now this is weird I talked to my dealer who called Yamaha right while i was standing there they claimed NO UPDATES wtf also talked to a rep at the show on Monday he also said no known issues (yeah right) however when i told him i had 1800 miles on the sled he said I had better pull the skid and greese it up :o| Sorry but i'm a PC jockey not a mechanic changing the oil is a big enough challenge for me! I don't understand why they would expect the consumer (at least ones like myself) to pull the skid every 500 miles and greese it up general maintenance to me is keeping it clean changing the oil and putting greese wherever i find a fitting. No fitting no greese, lucky for me my dealer is great said to bring it in next week he'll pull the skid replace the bushings if necessary. Also going to install fittings where needed now thats what i call good service ;)!
Don't want no problems on the Manitoba ride 8)

Does Yamaha (in the US) have a tech bullitin on how to install grease fittings (a Yamaha approved method)?

From what I was told, up here (Canada) if we add grease fittings, Yamaha won't warranty anything on the skid.

The lack of grease fittings really is rediculous. I can't see how it's even possible to pack the shafts with grease properly without them; even when assembled from the factory - let alone "grease the sled every 500 miles".

Almost RX1 as many have stated before your warranty is only as good as your dealer. I can't see mine not standing behind me even if Yamaha doesn't. They must suspect potential for failure or why did they add them to the 06 as you say the lack of greese fittings IS really rediculous :o| To make an awesome sled like this and leave out such a small detail just makes no sense to me. what were they thinking :?
