Need Rider Input on Apex GT vs. Attak

There's no way an attak handles as well in the tight twisties..With the larger track comes more under steer..Takes longer for the fat #*$&@ attk to get around the corner..Plus..You can't slide the back out like an Apex..And that's alot of fun..

I have a hard time with the notion that over-all top speed is faster on an attak..I think the laws of physics don't appy to some attak owners..It's all common sense really..

I'm pleased with Attack cornering & 121 can be a bit squirrley. Yep fat #*$&@ Attack is 25 lbs heavier so I don't eat lunch to keep weight even.

has anyone raced apex and attack to see at what distance the apex overtakes?

attach gets the launch because of traction, but eventually the apex should outrun due to less drag from shorter track... right?

what are drag times/speeds of each?

thanks

I am buying one or the other this season

what about apex with studs compared to attack without

will an apex with 144 studs loose top end compared to attack with no studs. this may make my decision for me

data... I need DATA :dunno:

The guys saying the Attak is faster are likely talking 660 -1000 ft. The extra traction the 136 has will holeshot an Apex. The short duration of the race won't allow enough room/time for the 121 to catch up.

Haven't had the chance to do a heads up compare 121 vs. 136 on Yammi's, but I did with the Poo's. I generally have 2 sleds. I rode a 136 for 3 years trying to get it to corner as well as a 121. Never even came close, but I admit it may be due to my riding style. FWIW

I agree with your thoughts ahicks . I ride back and forth between my 121 and a buddy's 136 Yammis. When trails get beat, I like the 136 a little better. When there reasonably smooth, I prefer the 121.
As far as coming out of the hole, the 121 skidoo gets the jump on both of us. I don't know why, all have 144 picks on ripsaws.
My riding is all on hard pack groomed trails FWIW

say there is this guy. :-o
He want's to beat his buddy on his attack with no studs

should this "guy" get an attack and stud it, or a GT and stud it.....

I........... I mean , this guy........ is moving from an srx and LOVES the twisties.

but cannot lose to the nonstudded attack.....

Attak or Apex, studded or unstudded will take a stock SRX on the long run. In the twisties the SRX has the advantage, if you can take the pounding from the pro-action rear suspension.

I think these question is 6 dozen to one half dozen to the other. No to sleds are the exact same either are the tuners or guys setting them up. I perfer my Apex RTX to my cousin's Attack GT. I beat him in 9 out of 10 drag races with less studs and minus a pipe and a clutch kit from a very well known tuner that posts on this board. My sled is bone stock 144 studs.

Bottom line both are great sleds suited to different riding style, if I did it over again I would buy another Apex RTX.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I run with a bunch of Rev heads. I always thought my weight was holding me back against them. This setup I'm running now can actually holeshot the same sleds by a length on occasion - and it's not studded. There's that much difference...

I would love to see an attack go better than an apex....sure it will get the jump off the line but from a roll on say 30 mph on good footing the apex will walk away...less track resistance and lighter.

Far as an srx, not in the same league, had both....apex is between a stock vmax800 and piped one...srx won't touch a stock 800...anywhere!

Apex06 - SRX not in the same league?? Maybe you had a poor running SRX?? I love the old V-4's, but the SRX would run right with the 800. I have also had both.
