The sled currently has a 1" ripsaw with a bunch of studs and its a 14" wide track. Previous owner I think was looking for more top end with this setup but I want better hookup for trail riding and off trail play. I like the Cobra on my XP but I'm wondering with the power this SC Nytro makes if I need more paddle? I don't want to stretch it now as I like the handling of the shorty in tight twisty trails. If I go much longer than the 1.352" paddle on the Cobra can I even run studs and is it worth it? I'm not much for lake racing but I do like the added safety of studs for braking when the Michigan trails get icey. Since this thing makes around 240HP will it still break 100mph with something like a 1.75" back country track on it? Thanks for any help.

For those smooth trail, and powder mix; I don't know if I would go over 1.375 on the track IMO. How out of control is it now on the smoother days?

I bought it this summer so I don't have any seat time yet. I'm sure my biggest problem will be traction with this kind of power. If I can't get it to handle close to my XP I may not have it for very long. I'm still wondering if I'll need a bigger fuel tank since sometimes we go a long time between gas stops but I'll make that decision after I decide to keep it or not.

I probably should of went with a 144 tip up, but for trailer sake I went 136" on mine. No trail time yet, but at 16lbs of boost, and the rest of the mods thought I should at least have this. Going 1-1/4" ripsaw with 1.450 studs inside, and out all windows FYI Keep in mind I was going to be 10-12lbs of boost when they recommended their options in that thread

Thanks, I read that thread a while ago, I really don't want to stretch it because if I don't like it I feel its wasted money since I will sell the sled. I don't think going to a 128" track would make much of a difference as far as traction goes but I guess you probably wouldn't need to mess with the tunnel length. If I run studs they will only be down the middle since the outer one's always wreck the track.

If this the route you want to go I would think the COBRA with the max studs down the middle with heavy nuts

OFT racing makes nice 136" rail extensions I think they are a 6 degree tip up. So you would still have a good trail runner and a little better off trail hook up.
You are going to change your track anyway, may want to stretch it a little bit now.

They sell them but they don't have the 6 degree tip-up like the one's at OFT. What about a 128" extension? Then I don't need to mess with the tunnel.

IMHO 128 is what your looking for since you want a nimble sled..I think you would be better served with more penetration of the stud than bigger paddle for hookup on pack etc...breaking trail is a different story...fyi i know of another that had a ripsaw and went to the cobra and was sorry in doing so...the 1.25 rip with 1.450's or the 1" with 1.250's? give the bite...about 4 per row on 121 and a 128...yes including the ousides...although it might be tough on your 14" wide?
as to a 1.75 back country great for breaking trail but yes you will loose top end...but what 120 instead of 130mph? who cares with the power you have...but, if it was me,for now if it was my sled Id ride it with a 1" or 1.25....actually a 1.25 predator/carve is an awesome all around choice...and with lots of studs and lots of penetration(at least .375)...no matter what you do...it wont be a doo off trail anyways so make it the best it can be in it's element...packed trail and lakes..
Im curious to know the details of your "boost"? since Im considering going this way..any details are appreciated!

What does the old owner think, since he ran it? What changes would he of done if he kept it for this riding style!

Best track is hands down the predator(now called carve) the lugs are spaced in a 6 pitch config for AWESOME off trail performance and you can run lots of studs for ice traction, its a harder durometer then most so no pull outs and I didn't lose any top speed. With the 6 pitch design its almost equivalent to the next step longer ie the 121 feels like a 136 in powder, 136 feels like a 144, etc. I love the track. Its getting swapped from my nitrous RX1 to my Sc apex GT-S.
