Of course, Yamaha told me to pound sand when my engine grenaded itself after 3800 miles. I need any and all contact info for anybody high up at Yamaha in California. If I'm going down, they are gonna get a piece of my mind in the process. Thanks

07 attack engine went 3800 rod bolt came loose 3days out of warante yamaha covered complete job -fluids down only 2 weeks sent complete engine

This probably does not apply in this case but having a good relationship with your dealer goes a long way in these cases. IMO the answer from Y often depends on how your dealer presents it.

I'm guessing you didn't have warranty since it was a 2006 Apex... I mean it is 5 years old... What did you expect them to say?

"Well sir your 4 years out of factory warranty' but hey what the hell let's warranty it for ya"

call yamaha customer service first. # is on our warranty card. when you call stay clam and they how displease you are and disappointed.

I have to agree as well. Well, no one likes to see a person have a very expensive fix like this, on a five year old sled there are many things that could have gone bad with age that could lead to a failure like this.
