It depends on how much you wanna spend.
Start with getting a tether /rollover kit, and a Mountaintech skid plate.
Then i would get the relocator and a new track.

Get a hold of OFT, I'm pretty sure it's going to be you one stop shop for everything you will need to get going.
Have fun on that thing and keep us posted on your mods.

You can start with the sticky post at the top and go from there. lots of room for improvement on the 08. Good sled but needs a lot of help and money thrown at it to make it a better performer. If i had it to do all over again i would do the following:
1. Track - powerclaw or CE (must have)
2 Rollover valve and tether (must have)
3. Steering relocator - OFT or others out there (must have)
4. Front suspension - Skinz or Z-bros or timbersled (must have)
5. Rear Suspension - Tmbersled or KMOD (must Have)
6. Clutch Kit - OFT. Hartman, other outthere (Must have)
7. Gear It- Top to 19t or 18t (optional)
8, Skies - Gan III, powderhounds, (optional)
9. Roest skid plate - (optional)
10. Running boards - skinz (ultimate) Betterboards (Good) WRP (good)
11. Save money to replace bent sub-frame. It will happen
12. Boost -turbo or super (optional)
13. Lightweight battery (optional)
14. Lightweight exhaust (optional but great way get additional HP but need Fuel controller)
14. Delete Sway bar (optionalb but need upgraded shocks first) Rapter, FOX, Exit
15. Have fun mandatory

OFT steering relocate, Yamaheater, OFT rollover valve, Roest shorty skid plate, Grizztracks subframe braces, Stiffer shock springs, remove sway bar, Apex rear torsion springs(if you're over 175 lbs) pre-filter material over the vents, remove TORS, duct tape over the vent in front of the oil tank, foam weatherstripping around the headligh.
If I didn't want to do major mods, those would be all the improvements I'd make to an '08. They will give you an improved ride and handling, reduce snow build up, and overall better performing sled for minimal cost.
If you have money burning a hole in your pocket I'd get a Skinz front end, take off Cat M series or Polaris Pro skid, and a camo extreme.

I run a d&d exhaust, it's loud but nice. No fuel controller needed with just the muffler.
Get the roll over valve, if u side hill u will lose it and oil in the breather box is a mess.

I have Simmons Gen 3's and feel they are too agessive on set up snow.
You may want to look at Curve's or run the stock MTX ski.

To be completely honest, as much as I love my Curve Skis and as much as I'd love to sell you a set. Starting from a stock 08, your initial investments could be better spent elsewhere. The MTX ski, may not be a great ski, but it is a good one.
After the basics, ROV, Relocator, Roest Skid plate (I'll have them soon ) Yamaheater if you like warm hands. I'd be looking at front suspension, then track then Skid in that order.
