I will most likely be getting a push setup so I can let you know how it goes. The push is going to be the easiest install of any of them. It doesn't have a return oil pump to worry about plumbing so there is less to do there. Seems like a pretty easy install.
I talked to the push owner at the snow show last week and he said that price was the reason Yamaha switched. I like the kit because it makes more power and I have never heard the slightest complaint about one of their systems after being on the snow for three years. MPI had a lot of complaints about their fueling issues last year in just their first year of being out.
I also rode one back when Yamaha was using them and they run really well.

From what I have been told by the experienced guys around our mountains is that mcx is the way to go. The push can't be used at different elevations. MCX gives you 190 hp at sea level to 10000 feet. So clutching never changes and your machine always runs the same. I think mcx is the way I am going to go so I can run in the prairies and mountains.

I'm pretty sure they use the same fueling system, it's a dobeck box.

Yep - same box on both kits. I honestly do not believe either kit is better than the other performance wise, both can be tuned to run the same boost and they use the same box. I have ridden both and the only difference I noticed was the sound of the BOVs.
Yamaha gave several reasons for the switch that were published in numerous magazines at this time last year & cost was not one of them.

I'm not in the mountains, I'm low elevation. I would go MCX if i was.
The Push for the price will do what I want, I'm not gonna be running a huge amount of Boost. If I can get the sled up to 160-170 hp I'll be happy.

this is what i'm looking for
i searched and could not find any info about the reason they switched , do you mind telling me what you read or where i could find that info , only thing i heard was something to do with bearings in the push turbo ????
for me i'm not looking for huge power , just something that's not going to leave me stranded or do any damage to my motor , also another big factory is the install , i have to be able to do this on my own , and i also plan on running low boost and only want pump gas

EDIT: found the article - http://read.uberflip.com/i/41947/30
The article in SnoWest last fall listed 4 reasons for the switch (they interviewed Rob Powers from Yamaha)
1. MPI uses Mitsubishi turbo
2. MPI uses an oil pump instead of vacuum to get oil to/from turbo
3. Stainless steel mounting plate instead of stock muffler bracket to mount the turbo
4. MPI uses 3 mounting spots for the charge tube and an extra muffler mount
I think Push has made some changes since then, so this list may not be accurate anymore.
I rode both kits and would be happy with either on my sled. I did the snowcheck deal last winter and the MPI kit was the one they installed. There are a bunch of push kits running around Northern Colorado too and those guys really like them. Go with what you like and what your dealer will support.

Push has not changed anything that Yamaha listed as concerns on the list. The only changes they have made are to move the mounting location forward just a bit and the turbo is now ceramic coated and all of the rest is powdercoated except for the charge tube in the tunnel, and it is not to allow some intercooling action to take place. I think tmk is correct in that either is a good kit. With the snowcheck deal the mpi made sense but I think the price difference makes the push well worth the money

well thats cool to hear allot of guys like that push turbo , that was a good deal on sleds last year for $1500 you got a turbo or super charger ,
i read over on another forum, think it was snowwest , a guy in BC built his own for like $1600 , garret turbo from a car and then just bought the controller and stuff , he had to build brackets and the intercooler for his sled , but they say its fast , he's done a few for his buds also
now thats a good way to go , his total cost was like $1600 , the turbo from a junk yard or pick your part place cost $450
i have lots of time yet to decide , will keep my ears open and see what everyone thinks after some more riding

- 2010 FXNytro MTX 162 SE with a 270 hp MCX Turbo and assorted goodies!
Here is my 2 cents.....
1. You get what you pay for. I spend a fair amount of time in Revelstoke and those guys almost exclusively run the MCXpress Kits.
2. The kit is only as good as the dealer that does the install. I did mine with Leiphiemer Yamaha in Butte, MT. They are the MCXpress Distributors for the USA.
3. HP is addictive, you'll need to go bigger than you think, or you might be dissappointed........... thus my jump to the 270 hp kit!
I am very happy with mine. I am 8 hours from the dealer (my local dealer had never done one-SEE REASON #2 above for my 8 hour drive each way....) I have had to dial in the boost and fix a gas leak from the trail tank. Other than that been a breeze. I know this kit is capable of running 10,000 miles with minimal issues. Change the oil and check houses, and it is gonna run a LONG TIME!
