New '11 Apex sneek peek!

http://cs.amsnow.com/snocs/blogs/news/2 ... nd-of.aspx Some good info . Looks might not have changed , but its everything we love about the apex , but now handles like a dream , and who knows maybe more Horsepower . looks like they have fixed the things most people complaned about the apex , handling and control . If all is true , yamaha has done what everyone told them too

keep reading about cross plane bike engine, really not into bike, so clueless. anybody with a link or basic explaination of design. are we talking inline or boxer? I wouldn't mind seeing a light sled with a snotty v twin

U Tube r-1 bike cross plane , there is a ten min video of it !

Not all, looks like a 128 mono, you can see where the upper wheel is mounted a few inches farther back than the 121" but not as far as the 136".

It appeared that they reused the 121" stamping as they used a bracket that mounts in the 121 holes to get the wheels back.

I,m sure this new machine is gunna have issues also, they all do.gunna sit-back and read.like the looks of my APEX GT much better IMO.have my APEX dialed in,not sure if i wanna start all over on a new one,but you never know?would be RAD if they had a CHARGER,POWER STEERING and a FLUX CAPACITOR so i can throw my trash in on the trail,a kenwood sound system would be cool too.couple more weeks and we will find out. :dunno: :yam:

I think I'm going to have to look at the video and pics a lot more in detail after reading this thread. The track looks longer, perhaps a 128... who knows, maybe they're getting away from 121 sleds, going to 128 and 144 w tip up? I think the red one in the pics is a new vector... Also, I don't see a tipup in the rails... and I noticed that all the handlebar controls look the same as standard Apex... Standard reverse handle on right side.....

I have to go back and look more closely... I'd have to have a 144 Apex w tipups, a little more rider foreward too, better skis, handlebar heaters... too much to list. Haa ha

here are a few pics. Took one of the gauge right after turning the key on which lit up everything. Thats where we seen the eps just below the clock.

Has anyone driven R1 bikes? I have (having that Harmony has worked at the dealer since 04). I have riden almost every year since 05.
Pre-crossplane R1's are DOGS below 7000rpm. The NEW R1 has considerably more low end torque than ever before....so much that it comes with a MODE switch to lower engine power at lower rpms.

So quit with the 'cross planes have no torque'!!!

All sport bikes are dogs below 7000 unless it's a twin!, :jump:

Based off the video, the sled doesn't sound like it has the cross plane technology. Those who test rode it would know. There's definately a different sound.
