not seeing where you guys are coming up with the weight reductions....looks like every other Apex but with a revamped seat and slightly different airbox...that said bring on the MTX with Pro-Mountain Air, a single ply Camo extreme and about 180 ponies....gggggiddyup!
 
That's not the same sled in the vid.....if you look really close at the exaust it's not the same. Just look at how the exaust is tiped up and out.....the plastics are different as well. The sled in the pic looks like it just has the apex mountain plastics on the exaust where the on in the vid it's the actual tip that's pointing up and out......look really close and you will see.
 
I did some calculations and the weight savings from the slim line seat, new rear taillight fascia and fully redesigned hood/ air box cut out = 3/10's of an ounce. Thats a 30% reduction of an ounce :o| And then they lost all of it by installing a windshield that actuall shields from wind.

I see the same sled. same r1 bike exaust tips, same tail light, same end of tunnel exposed, same strip coming off the rear of seat at the same point, same square corners on upper rear of coul, same plastic covering the hoses and up over corner of tunnel.
 
With the side view, doesn't it look like the rear of the track sticks out further than the tunnel? Needs a tunnel extention? Proto...I understand.
 
It looks like a current Apex chassis modified maybe with a 128 track. You can see where the old plastic shrouds rubbed on the side of the tunnel. It's possible that the seat is the same length, just an extended tunnel. Also looks like the snow flap has additional bracing to keep it from folding under. Can't tell by the exhaust exits what this is but the 2010 Apex exhausts are larger diameter than the 3 cylinder.
 
The new motor will be based on the o4 -06 5valve r1 motor ,07 would be to late in design of the new sled , they would have prototypes built late 07 . The new sled was ready for production last year ;)! the o6 r1 was rated at 175 -180hp on 91 octane @ 12500rpm , lower compression (87 octane) & lower rpm, the sled will be 165-175 hp, :drink:
