So I just picked up a 2018 viper rtx. I used to have a 2014 LTX-Se. Noticed this sled doesn’t have an exhaust temp sensor...just a bolt in the spot where my last sled had the sensor.
Is this something that was stripped? Can I simply add one and is there a pigtail I can plug it into? Dealer not open till Monday an I am curious if anyone knows -Thanks

I believe the sensor was eliminated in 2016

It actually was an oxygen sensor and is no longer used with the current ECU calibrations. You should be good to go without it!

This is helpful thanks - now I need to understand why the two thumb screws on the upper front corners of the shrouds are missing. Did Yamaha do away with those as well or did the dealer forget to put them back in after set up?

They did eliminate those thump screws.

That’s annoying. The fit/finish here sucks now. Anyone have a part# on these? I’d like to order some if they are still available - Its impossible for me to pinpoint on the microfiche.

Fit and finish with both of my vipers is just fine without them?

I believe if you search a 2014 RTX Shroud the knob and speed nut are parts 67-68. Take a look to confirm.

My thumb screw fell off in the woods someplace in northern Michigan and has performed great ever since maybe better. Think of it as a weight saving.
