yea, and thats what i mean.
You figure different skis, plastics, seats, exhaust, windshields and more.. So just think how many different "MOD" and "help" and more threads/instructions are going to be totally different.. The new power steering, and exup exhaust are bound to create a tone of threads over the next years, let alone all the other little stuff.

Normally when people post questions on the site, they almost ALWAYS post the year sled they are talking about. Each year there are changes on models and clearly Yamaha didnt think there were enough changes to warrant a new sled name for the 2011 Apex. Ive got a Kawasaki Mule, bought it in 2007, the next year they came out with tons of new features and guess what, its still called a Mule. They did also release a completely new Side by Side and that model got a new name. I think you see where Im going here. Its really no big deal, its just my personal opinion and im only one guy.
Good point blueByYou2000.
There is not enough change to warrant its own forum as the subframe is still the same it just has a more features. That said its still a no for me, because its still an Apex in the same sub frame with new features. When the 05 Rx1 came out with the first mono suspension and titanium parts and lots of improvements over the 03 we never started a new forum so why now?

The reason there is an Apex Mountain forum is it attracts Mountain Riders and there discussions are vastly different than the flatlanders discussions. Snowmobiling out west is a totally different sport and anyone who has ever riden out there would totally agree.

Different front end geometrics, skis, steering and clutching as well. Not to mention this sled is in a class of its own due to its intended nature mountain riding and has its own loyal riders group. This being in its own forum makes sense.

You don't happen to own an F150 do you? You'd sure using the search key a lot if you only went by year, rather than significant changes.
Honestly, what's the big deal either way? To add a forum sub-title shouldn't even necessitate someone voting "No". It's kinda like having something disgusting on T.V.; if you don't like it, just don't watch that channel!
Add the new 2011 Apex Forum and if it becomes anything other than an educational tool, simply do away with it. How hard is that?

That makes no sense. You just listed less differences between two apex previous models then what the new apex is and said that warrents two catagories? But yet a new apex with new skis, power steering, new exhaust, new plastics, new seat, new windshield and more doesnt warrent one?? that makes no sense to me??
Yes the apex is similar to the old one but there are a ton a major differences when it comes to discussions that create totally different questions, mods, stickys, how too's, aftermarket parts, problems, and so on. It just clogs up the old/new talk.
For example I own an 05 f-150. On the site there , there is an 04-08 catagory, and then even though a slight change, the next generation of 09-? was put in. So i'm just thinking of things like that for a similar sitation I guess.
I'm thinking more for whats best for this website and what would make it even better for new and old to be here.
I think theres more to lose by not doing it, then there is in doing so. But thats totally up to the good people who run this site.

OK guys I give up. We all have our opinions and I respect all the feedback. For what its worth, we voted in the Mod section and its 7-0 for NOT adding the forum. Theoretically we could have Several Apex sections:
2006 RTX
2006 GT
2006 Standard
2007 RTX
2007 GT
2007 Standard
2008 RTX
2008 GT
2009 Standard
2010 GT
2010 Standard
2010 LTX GT
2010 LTX
2011 SE
2011 Standard
2011 XTX
Maxout, Is this what you would like to see? Then should we go in and change the Vector series, because they as well have had improvements like, different motors, different skis, titanium heads and chaincase covers....etc. This list could go on forever. Now do you see where I am coming from? I completely see and understand your point. Mine is simply that we REALLY could have a forum or sub-forum for each year model in all 4 stroke categories since they were introduced in 2003.

The Vector changed drastically and we did NOT change or add another forum.

No i never said I wanted to see any of that. One sub forum for a next gen model didnt seem to be that big a deal, I never said anything about a forum for every model..
All im saying is if I go to a site looking for stuff on my 05, and all i see if stuff for an 09 redesign model in the forum, I'd just go to another site that was easier to navagate. I dont want to see this happen to a great site like this. Now a days so many people bounce between manufacturers that it happens all the time.
Honestly do whatever i really could care a less now, im tired of thinking about it.
Someone makes a suggestion about an addition to a site to make it more user friendly and a mod jumps down thier throats for expressing opinions.. BS.
