I hope it's true too....but Chris Reid's blog scares me (his newest blog)...I hope he is doing that just to mess with us...cause..I can read between the lines....and that was down right gloomy....all I'm gonna say is...I guess we'll see Wednesday....but his blog does not make me feel good about the future of yamaha snowmobiles
That blog is depressing. Sounds like a guy who knows deep down he will be looking for a job sooner than later.

X2...that's why I posted this here...I thought it was very exciting to have a potential new apex out on the trails...and btw...within 20 miles of the great bass lake test facility (yamaha minocqua test location)...so it made sense to me
Had to sift through all the comments but I was going to ask how far from the Minocqua test facility. I know they haven't been up in Michigan much this year. Probably too many trail riders up there this season with the low snow coverage. The story sure reminds me of the first time I stumbled upon Pat's in Greenland. I was sitting on at the trail crossing of trail #13 where the highway goes to Ontanogon talking with my buddy when what sounded like a motorcycle pulled up and crossed the road. My buddy looked at me and said....."did you see and hear that, sounds like a 4 stroke?" I said yes, and we pulled the ropes on our machines and chased the guy to a big Yamaha trailer parked out behind Pat's. It was the prototype of the RX1 before it existed. Chad ( now M&M Powersports) came out and tried to shoo us away. We weren't supposed to look at it. I also saw a glimpse of the Nytro up there a few years later before it was out. Seems they are much more careful these days though.
Even if this was what we hope, the sad thing is sometimes these prototypes never materialize. I remember a fella claiming he saw an Arctic Cat proto several years ago that had a GSXR/Busa type motor in it that never really happened. It might have been true that they tested something to market against the RX1/Apex sleds......who knows....??
I won't hold my breath on this.

Did anyone stop and think maybe it's a 17 sled not 16.

So it sounds like Apex's are going to become collectible.

They went 5 years with first Apex, another 5 years with the power steering Apex. If they plan to continue this model then 2016 should be an upgrade year.

Thank you, at least its hope and not doom and gloom. But that said, I think my 2012 is perfect. I don't know how it could get any better?

I'll handle the "" DOOM"" who'll take the gloom? I'm sticking with BNG for 16 Apex!

Any bets vector gone for 16

I said this about the Nytro and was told on here that that would never happen. I wouldn't think they would get rid of the Vector as it has such a different market segment that the other sleds don't cover. I would think the end of the Phazer is nearer.

Looks like lighter "Single Shot" rear suspension, and LEs come with stabilizers/dampeners. altered seat/bars/windshield and a boost in the power output....
