You dont have to lose your machines. That part is usually worked out a head of time.
I drag race and have known several that have raced on there. Even though they show them loading it up, they dont always take it home. Sometimes they do, sometimes they dont.
It seems when the cars are very high class and well built they dont. The ones people throw together for the show....that may be a different story.
