new cat turbo on radar

Im just saying wait till that turbo sled gets more miles on it before you get to excited.. i am betting its like the doos.. they are programmed to not allow full timing and fuel untill a certain set hour breakin run time..

that new cat is dynoing out at 180-185 hp in stock form..

they have pushed it to 265hp on race fuel with minor mods..
....Buddy works for CAT and has one---177 stock and YES timeing will change...Not sure how many hours but i will ask him...He is a Cat wrench.........

Called buddy on that ----stock 177 /// timing down till around 500 miles//9lbs of boost stock and can be turned to 15lbs if you no what you are doing==200hp burning 91octane and no raceing fuel needed for that........but we will see if they hold together ?? I have not be out around here with him yet as we do not have enough snow...

Agreed, supposed to be sick on fuel. Billy Howard is running his modded Z1 turbo at old forge.

im sure they will get faster after a while,i was just posting what i saw

How about WEIGHT, I heard rumors of 800 lbs plus "WET" has anyone taken time to weigh 1 in the REAL world :exc:

pat the rat, who had the 09 LTX? Was it also new with low miles? Did you post this over on hcs? Because the numbers are close but don't jive.

I'd like to learn more. I don't think the cat has a break in mode on it. I'll make a call and find out from a reliable source inside Cat.

Mike, this does not surprise me at the speeds, since even when they announced the Turbo Cat, Cat said that it would be the fastest on top end, but they said the F1000 and XFR1000 would beat it in a shorter run. My guess would be 3-4000ft so it can stretch it's legs, then you would see it perform.

i dont go on hcs so it must be somebody else,my bud's apex had 200 miles on it,it was close to be broke in,he his a yamaha freak,he must of owned at least 50 new yammi sled, sometimes he'd buy 2 or 3 a season, and he his hard to beat on a stock sled

Please let us know how things go as it gets more miles. I too believe it will be a different story after that motor loosens up.......

I remember taking my brand new 03 RX-1 to the UP with zero miles and being schooled by my buddies 800 REV with about 500 miles on the clock. By the end of the week after I had over 500 miles I was walking away from him on the straights.........

Now us Yamaha guys concerned with weight! Thats funny right there I don't care who you are!!!!!

I guess we all forgot just how heavy our sleds are!

Warrior is near 750pds wet. My fat arse on its back its well over a half ton. So RX 1 ton was half right anyway. LOL

I think it makes it ride better and cruise better. My fat arse that is! ;)!

Ya, us llittle guys never lack for traction, eh Charlie!!

I'm 300lbs, my broken-in Apex will still walk away from my Nytro with my 150lb son driving it. Not in a short run, but just give me some space to get her going! Wig

the cat needs at least 500 miles to break in. plus it needs the proper amount of studs , I ridden one that was set up and that thing runs!!!! :4STroke:

I would like to line one up in a windy trail....with viperdave and see who wins...doesnt matter how much power you have...HA!

My buddy rode one last weekend. Was bragging at the bar about the "worlds fastests snowmobile". ;):D "8-9lbs of boost stock at 170+hp. Know that is sick fast...nothing will every catch that!" :o|

Being a previous turbo sled owner, I wonder what the insurance is on a sled that has "turbo" in the discription? I sure dont need one that is a factory turbo. Just my opinion.

I hope yamaha reads this "DONT MAKE A FACTORY TURBO SLED". We have plenty of companies doing all the research and testing to push BIG horsepower, we dont need a low boost factory sled with high insurance I wouldnt buy one!
