we finally hit the lake yesterday,8'' of good solid ice with 1'' of snow,we only had 3 sleds but it was fun,2002 srx, best run was 126mph,2003 xcr 800 best was 126 mph also,2007 apex with yamcharger was running 128mph,actually slower than last week where we saw 131 consistantly, all 3 sleds run speed tracks with ice picks, gearing and clutched well, last run of the day with the apex, the track let go at 110 mph,we got a good scare but nobody got hurt, the front exchanger is peirced,we had to clean a antifreeze mess, here's a few pics

Hey Pat, I didn't think it had been that cold up there yet. I "heard" Elk Lake had a foot of snow any comment?

no snow in elk lake, maybe a cpl inch at best,a bit more in the bush but nothing worth talking about, the ice on small lakes is really good,we had a good 8'' of solid ice, this is a small lake and its always the first one to freezeTurboJamie said:Hey Pat, I didn't think it had been that cold up there yet. I remember years ago one of my SRX's was clutched by a guy in Liskeard area. I would remember his name if I saw it...his SRX's would do 129 or 130....french last name. He was a well known Yamaha guy. I kicked arse with my sled at the Shiningtree drags.

By the way, nice to see the track debris picked up. It drives me nuts when I see blown belts and crap left on the ice. Good job!
One friend was a radar run and a guy blew the track right off the sled. He bailed and the sled crashed in the bush doing some serious damage.

the 2 best yamaha guys here are andre matteau or victor beaudry, they know how yammi clutches work, and they have lots of parts,as for the track blowout,we made sure nothing was left on the ice,we had antifreeze also,we picked up the mess and into a pail
