New Fuel From VP that I think everyone should be running instead of VP 110

NEW!
StreetBlazeâ„¢ 103 is the highest octane unleaded street-legal fuel in the U.S. This 103 octane (R+M/2) fuel provides power and protection equal to some leaded racing fuels. Typically allows turbo engines to raise the boost from the stock 8-10 lbs. to 20-25 lbs. Although street legal in many states, StreetBlaze 103 is not legal in those states that restrict the use of MTBE. Customers should check local regulations prior to use.

Won't harm O2 sensors

Got a barrel of it sitting here. Have yet to try it, but plan to this weekend!

Only advantage to it that i see is that it is unleaded...if you are using a wideband with a NTK sensor then you do not have to worry about leaded fuel hurting it. 103 R+M/2 is probably like 98-100 motor octane...good for 10-11 psi on stock motor. If you guys want the highest octane unleaded fuel, its made by Powermist. 105 Motor octane. I used to run it when i was worried about my wideband sensor, then i learned that the NTK does fine with leaded. So far i have ran about 500 gallons of leaded past a NTK sensor with no problems!!

From the NGK web site (they make the NTK sensor) Their literature specifically specify that not only leaded fuel will shorten the sensor life but also it need an AIR calibration every so often:

http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/pdf/AFX_Tu ... _Rev04.pdf

FJO self calibrates every time it fires up....another reason to not skimp on wideband equipment. 500 gallons of leaded fuel, no problems. Try that on a Bosch sensor..

Ted, same as MotorSport 103 which is what I tried this past weekend. Question for you, how much boost would you feel comfortable with using this fuel and 10:1 pistons. Also, what type of A/F sensor would you recommend?
Thanks

www.fjoracing.com for your wideband. Best quality on the market, bar none. Uses the best sensor in the world(NTK) and they even show a video of the unit on the site being operated in boiling water, then in a brick of ice with the wires hanging out!!

I agree with TM that 103 is only safe for 10 lbs on a stock motor 100 motor octane=10 psi. Did anyone of you see what detonation does to the cylinders of the RX1 motor? Want to see something ugly? You'll be buying a new block. C16 is turbo fuel and I'll argue with anyone that knows anything about fuel on this issue. Theirs more to fuel than just octane guys! LIGHT FRACTIONS , VAPOR PRESSURE , TAILS , DISTILLATION CURVES , just name a few. The information is just as availible as this web site. READ FOR YOURSELVES. :o|

I hate to make recommendations because there are too many variables but for Discussion purposes if a motor is safe at 8 psi on 93 pump theoretically should be ok at 13 psi on 100 and 15 psi on 103.

The Motorsport 103 or Streeblaze 103 is turbo fuel blended specifically.

And I agree there is a lot more to fuel than Octane.

Octane is only what we recognize as a guide.

So one companies 103 may not be turbo fuel while others are.

C-16 is a very heavy fuel and was origionally blended for Nitrous Oxide which works very well mind you, and guys started running it in Turbo applications with high compression because that is all there was, but later learned that it doesn't burn very well in low compression turbo engines on low boost and is very hard to tune.

C-16 with low compression and turbo need 25 psi and up to burn properly.

Ted have you tried the Nitrous fuel from VP fuels.
I think its called N2O Plus?
Some of the guys up here run it, they say it changes the tune alot .
It burns faster than C16 if I remeber.
I had enough of a time setting my car up with C16 to try to change it
Im also going to look into Sonoco race fuels next year as well.
