fired right up first try using planners method. thanks all for the help.

Personally once I've started up the sled I never touch the choke the rest of the day. Engine stays warm enough to fire right up.

sounds good. will keep that in mind

Curious what that is too?

I know I must sound like an advocate now, but I would also run a can of Sea-Foam through it just to make sure your carbs are good and clean and remain that way.

called my dad. he said they sprayed something in the carbs to get it going? he didnt recall what it was.

ok, i know how to seafoam a car, but what is best approach on sled

1st bold, probably ether, but hopefully they didn't use too much or you could have more problems than you think?

2nd bold, just add it to the gas periodically. I normally add a whole can at the start and end of season and usually 1/2 can or slightly less a couple 2 or times during the season.

ahh, much easier than car. i will get a can and run it through. i know with cars its not recomended unless your up around 75,000 miles or so. this sled only has 96 miles on it. no issues with sea foaming it?

Never heard that one but I assume they are referring to when you choose to dump it in your oil??

As far as I know, Sea-Foam can be used anytime if you are just adding it to your gas tank? It is a also cleaner which would help with gummed up carbs and fuel injectors so I can't see why a vehicle would need so many miles on it first to use? :dunno:

Edit: check out this link, should answer all your questions regarding Sea-Foam.

;)!

awesome link, thanks irv.
as far as so many miles on car, im not sure. im on a couple mustang forums and i remember it being talked about bout year ago. as far as dumping it, if i remember correctly they were putting some in fuel tank, some in engine, and some in a vacuum line

you can also have issues with gas evaporating out of the float bowls and hard to start.
