can anyone tell me if it is difficult to remove the hand warmers from my old ones to install on my new ones? Or would i have to get new hand warmers?

You can try to salvage the old ones( adhesive is strong). I ended up taking the old ones off but determined to properly do the job without issues, just put new ones on.
Btw I put 2017 zr bars with the thinner grips on my 15.

cut the old grips off. Don't break all the way through as you could damage the heaters. You will have to peel them off once cut. Then use a heat gun and slowly peel the heater off. Try to keep the glue on the heaters. reapply and use some electrical tape to hold them on just like original. Saves you 160 dollars or so.
