This may be a bit of a strange question but has anyone istalled these hyfax backwards? drill and countersink the rear so the inserts are at the back. I have a 06 attack and my slides only wear in the middle between the rear wheels and front wheels, so if the inserts were at the back insread of at the front I would get some good life out of them!

That's an interesting question.
I just installed a set of the Dupont Hyfax on my XTX. This was different since the only other times I have installed them were on 121" Apex and 121" Phazer, I had to cut them down for those sleds. And the inserts were in the right spots. The 144" they are at the right length, and no cutting is needed.
The XTX seems to like to burn Hyfax right at about the point that the inserts end. Now the issue I see with turning them around would be that the bend in the rail is a hotspot too. I would assume it is more of a hotspot than any other spot on the rail. But I could be wrong. If you are flipping them on a 121", this may not be an issue.
I will run them and see if that spot towards the rear clears up with these as the stockers were shot almost immediately.
Good luck!
PS: If you do flip them, be sure to cut some slots at the bend like the other end. It may help with them at the bend with minimal issue.

My slides do not seem to wear much at all in the front at the bend so I thought if I put them on backwards it might work nice. I have a 136 Attak.

I was also thinking the same but what I am going to do is buy one more stick of duponts and cut it off and add to the rear where it doesn't have inserts and drill and tap a new hole in the rear of the rails. That way it will be inserts all the way down the rails.turbine tester said:This may be a bit of a strange question but has anyone istalled these hyfax backwards? drill and countersink the rear so the inserts are at the back. - 2016 RS Vector XTX 1.25 Lug wifes..2013 RS Vector LTX.. 2003 600 VMax Past Machines 3-2007 Attaks 1-2010 Vector LTX.. sorry no Stinkdoos or poo's cats.
Great Idea...Just copy the front taper and hole carefully. Maybe make a pattern or use an old one to use as a pattern.

Hyfax wear
Here's another thought, put on PP offset kit and pretty much forget about new hyfax again....over 7000 miles and still looking good and that's with some low snow conditions

Re: Hyfax wear
i havent put the duponts on yet because I have 6000 miles on my graphite ones with the excells and plan on another season. Dont know if the DuPonts are worth it or not just yet. I thought if I were to add the extra piece in the rear with DuPonts It would virtually last as long I would keep the sled.snowbiscuit said:Here's another thought, put on PP offset kit and pretty much forget about new hyfax again....over 7000 miles and still looking good and that's with some low snow conditions

yes oversize idlers and a couple sets of marginal wheels takes care of any slidder wear issue on the XTX. i just changed miy sliders just because and they had 5000KM and i'm sure i could have went another 2-4000 easily. i'm afraid of the dupont ones wearing out the track clips since they do not wear. something has to wear if not the slidders then the clips. Personally i'd rather replace the cheap plastic slidders then replace a track or the clips. JMO
