- 2018 RS Venture TF one for me and one for my wife
Good day everyone, I have been prowling the TY forum of a week or so now checking out all the good information. I am also a member of the Yamahaj etboaters forum having owned a 2009 Yamaha AR 230 up until this past summer when I sold it and moved over to a pontoon boat. Loved my Yamaha boat, right from day one I gathered endless information from the jet boaters forum. Everyone on there not only touted how great the boats where, but also their failings. I knew after being on that forum for a few months I had found my boat and with all their help made owning an enjoyable experience.
Now that I am a pontoon boat owner (2007 Sweetwater with Hewit Pontoon Legs) I find myself in the position to purchase a couple of snowmobiles and being a Yamaha owner I knew where to look first. At the same time I was hoping to find a similar community for snowmobiles as I did with Jet Boats. Then I found Total Yamaha and I knew I was making the right decision. I find this community very similar to the Jet boaters forum, but with a few more Canadians on it. Not to many Yamaha Jet Boats in my neck of the woods.
Being somewhat a newbie to snowmobiling, it has been years since I have been on one, and with my wife being reluctant to snowmobile, I knew my main goal was to ensure I do this right. I have one chance to make her first ride an enjoyable experience while making sure it is something she wants to do again. So I begin researching a few weeks ago and decided on the new 2018 RS Venture TF. I really like the 3 driving modes and power steering features for her. A lot less for her to worry about. Also we have 100's of KM of groomed trails up at our cottage, so most of our sledding will be either on trails or on the lake (Our lake is over 40km Long) so I wanted to get a touring machine that was extremely reliable, comfortable and easy to ride.
We have been discussing snowmobiling a lot in the past few weeks and both of us are very excited for our first season of sledding. We are going to the Snow Show 2017 in Saskatoon next week. Hoping to see some sleds try them on and get us outfitted properly for our first ride.
I am hoping those that have the Venture TF or anyone with experience can help me make sure I am making the correct decision on the sleds.
Thank you

Welcome to the site!! I had an EPS Venture a few years back and love it for touring with my daughter. I have since sold it off to Viper Dave who still runs it. Great sled. Mine did not have all the new stuff that yours does but what a great ride. I called it my couch.

Venture is a nice sled and prolly evolve to 2 Vectors. My bud rides hard with his wife on a Venture GT harder than my wife would allow me but to each his own. Riding any 2up can get old & boring for the passenger but the same way my wife and I started many years ago but after 1 season she wanted her own sled and why I suggested the 2 Vectors from the get go.

troystimpson welcome to site, great people on here plus willing to help and lots of information! you picked one of the most comfortable and I'd say most reliable sleds ever built, there warm, comfy, dependable, easy to drive, sip fuel and very fast if you ever feel the need for some speed. if there well cared for and kept clean they still look brand new after years of use.
I'm located just 20 minutes north of you by the way. I'll be checking the show out also and you can usually find some good deals on clothing, the FXR booth over the years has repeatably had non current lines( last years stock) on for half price. One recommendation I'd make is in recent years most of the clothing manufactures offer snow suits with built in flotation assistance technology, for new riders on lakes and rivers this tech is good peace of mind for while there out riding.
hope you enjoy the show and enjoy the new rides.

Careful. This site has a funny way of convincing folks to buy more sleds.

Welcome!
Those are great sleds. You two are really going to enjoy the beautiful winter sights in comfort. Only thing I can think of that a Venture needs is a GPS. I agree with Budman get some real good snowmobile clothing makes it much more fun if the cold doesn't matter.

That would be an awesome two up touring sled! I was looking at it and almost bought one but instead bought a Yamaha touring motorcycle! Still contemplating one more Yamaha sled to the stable buy I'm broke now! Ventures are couches and great for two up I think you would be happy with it!

- 2018 RS Venture TF one for me and one for my wife
Thank you everyone for the advice. I think we are making the right decision on the sleds. Definitely going to the Snow Show this weekend in Saskatoon to get all geared up. It was funny, it snowed here last night and I received a text from my wife this morning. She was all excited about the snow, i think this was the first time in her life she was excited for the first snow fall. Be a couple of more weeks before we get the sleds. Apparently they are in a container on their way to the port of Vancouver, should arrive next week and hopefully be at the dealer the week after. Going to be a long couple of weeks.

She's excited to go snowmobiling!
Does she have a sister?
P.S.: If you're going to wear MATCHING shirts, can you please make them Blue!
Green makes a lot of people here a little "edgy". LOL
