Suprised not a lot of talk about the new track on the 2012 RTX. Haven't seen it in person yet but some good video footage on the Yami website. Looks to be a Predator/Carve and Cobra hybrid. Cupped like the cobra but lug thickness and spacing like the Predator/Carve. Hopefully they'll have an RTX at Lake Geneva races in a couple weeks. Like to check it out.

Yeah I saw that too and the video on the Yamaha USA site states that it has less sideways bite in the corners allowing you to rail better? That doesn't make sense! You'd be losing traction in the corners...not railing the corners...you'd have to go slower to rail the corners then. It will only make the skis feel like they are better than previous years, which I'm willing to bet they're not.
I don't know if the Ripsaw 2 track is even on any of the Canadian sleds since the Nytro RTX isn't available here.

One thing for sure, it's GOT to be better than the Ripsaw.

It allows for more laterial slip so the back end rotates better in the corners than before. As it is, the nytro understeers way too much.

But that's not "railing".

I put one inch predators on four, yes four nytros and they handle way better than with the ripjunk. They just seem to have a better balance with front and rear traction. I would like to try the new ripsaw 2, looks like they are on the right track finally.

i rode that sled at the demo up in michigan and it hooks up great. i didn't get to get it sideways in any corners though,i will be updating my 08 with those drivers and that track over the summer if it is available for a good price.the suspension was pretty sweet to but i can buy parts for the 08 alot cheaper than what the '12 cost

Some people like the back end of the sled to slip a tad to get throught the corners quicker. I believe the new Ripsaw II track will allow the back end to kick loose a little more than it's predecessor. I view that as an improvement. It will also lead to less "pushing" throught the corners IMHO. But right, "railing" means nothing is slipping or kicking loose.

Anyone know if this track is available in a 128

I don't see it listed anywhere for a 128".....but the funny thing is, I only see 120" listed. That would be for a Ski Doo XP....and the only sled that actually has it is a Nytro, which is a 121"....has me confused.

Less side bite through the corners than the original RipSaw New lug design combines the best features of Ripsaw, Cobra and Predator for excellent performance on a wide variety of trail conditions

What are you hoping to gain with this track over the stock Ripsaw? Keep in mind outside lug plays an important role if you're searching for improved acceleration. The 45degree cuts on side of lugs will provide less side bite but very likely at expense of overall traction.. I like the design but would like to see a performance comparison against the stock ripsaw and predator.

I'd like to be able to kick out the rear end easily, the track looks better than the ripsaw imo...looking for good top speed and loose snow performace

I ordered a 2013 black and charcoal RTX. I was happy with the ripsaw on my REV, hoping the ripsaw 2 is only better.
Not much else to add, just excited and thought I'd share.

I emailed asking if this track will be available in new sizes...here;s the reply I got:
Hi,
Camoplast has not yet released new track sizes for ’12. I know there will be close to 30 new tracks coming out. We should hopefully know more within the next few weeks. We will keep our website up to date with new product as released.
Thanks -
