I have a 2010 Vector LTX GT. I am looking at possibly changing out the stock skis to something different. I am looking at either the C&A Trail X or a set of the Curve XS. Anyone have an opinion on those or other brands that I may want to look into.

Why not try the new Yamaha ski and let us know how they work. You can get 2 of them for the price of one of the others. But, the 4 wear rods will cost some serious coinage!

Ski choice will depend alot on the type of riding that you do. Is it only groomed trail riding, do you go off trail sometimes, or is it mainly off trail riding. Does cost matter to you, do you want a cool factor, if not the skys the limit on your choices. Let us know a little more info so we can narrow down your choices. I know the Curve's have gotten alot of positive reviews.

I do mainly trail riding, but looking to be able to go off trail. Mainly looking for something that rides/ floats better than the stock skis and is easier to steer.

I run the same sled, tried different skis, but have found the OEM skis with mods work as well or better.
My solution: 1/8" ski toe-out, static on flat cement with bungee cord stretched between loops; 1/4" pad under the rear ski bumper to keep skis tilted up when front end is off the ground; and Stud Boy 6" Deuce Runner carbides.

Like mentioned above, skis truely are a personal choice as is suspension setup. I never had a real darting issue with my 07' RS. I started playing with skis to chase push on on the front end and get more floatation off trail. I went from stock skis with 6" Shaper bars to Slydog Powder Hounds with 6" Shaper bars, to Yamaha Mountain skis shimmed and 6" Shapers bars. Still not happy with any of these, I went with a set of Pilot 5.7 with 6" carbides down the center and 4" on the outside. In the end I decided I wanted to lighten the steering effort and have the sled go around corneres more than added floatation. I could have gone to Pilot 6.9 skis but wanted to see how light the steering could be with my suspension setup. I am really happy with the Pilot 5.7's. The sled never cornered better and these skis really lightened the steering effort. Floatation is not any worse than stock and might be slightly better. Although, the Pilot 5.7's dont steer real well in powder, I realized that I still spend 75-80% of my time on the trail. Pilot skis are also about the lowest cost skis you can buy. I bought them as a kit thru Pioneer. M 0.02 $ G.B.

Snowtrackers with stock skis is another good option! Wont help you in the floatation department though.

i wore out my stock skis and decided to try curves. they float much better offtrail than stock and ontrail they are almost as good as having power steering. have to check my carbides yet but i got 2 seasons on one set. used to only get one season. only thing with aftermarket skis is to make shure that your front bushings are all in good shape/tight. mine where worn and i needed to do them to get aling right.

I have an 06 Rage with 17,000 km on it and the skis are like new.
I have 6" woodys carbide on them. They did dart and were heavy to steer. I lightened the ski pressure and they work fine now.
When the carbide wears off I get new ones, but the skis don't wear

I ended up going with the Curves and 6" carbides. Can't wait for the snow to hit around here. The skis look awsome in the box, can't wait to see them attached to the sled and give them a try.

no i did not ride in dirt. lots of rocks in/on the trails here that i ride. the skis where not totally finished but there was almost no keel left and you needed a square carbide bar to make them bite in the snow. i usually trash a set of carbides a year from rock hits.
used them as spares and they are almost to the point that you can flex the plastic between the stud holes with your finger.
i have split ski skins on steel skis on rock hits as well. needed to cut a drill curl from one ski skin as it was binding up my track.

Sorry...didn't notice you are in Sudbury...I can see that riding on the moon would be hard on skis.
We have some pretty rocky trails here too. Thats one reason most of my riding is in Michigan....you don't need a lot of snow to cover crap up there cause theres not much crap to cover

i reaaly like my pilot 6.9's make sure you run a carbide on the outside to eliminate ski wear. the stock Doo carbides in the center didnt last long but i'm sure the shaper bars will last alot longer.
