Yamaha was rumored to have a new Snocross sled coming out. Wondering if anyone was at BIR this weekend for the Snocross. I see Yamaha was 1&2 in their heat (final hasn't been posted yet), which is such a big improvement - it's got me thinking.

I retract my optimism - Yamaha 13th & 15th place in the final. New sled or not it's another bust.

Out of all fairness to the snowcross team, they finished first in the 4 stroke class.
I would love to see Cat, Polaris and Doo in a competition against Yamaha 4 strokers.

I would like to see that as well.

This is what I have tryd to tell some of these guys on here bashing away,I am dissapointed too but knowing that the rules will change to 4 stroke only competition, one of the main reason's why BRP built there 4.So they can race it in "open" just like Yamaha, wouldn't suprise me to see 4 stroke racers from AC & POL in the next couple of years. It's inevitable the 4 stroke is the future of racing and production.

Taylor actually ran strong in the final, but something must have happend when he didn't finish the race i think he was up to 8th place then dropped back! Would be cool to se how long it would take for them to get banned if they got that g-force clutch in the sled!

Until the weight comes down, you won't see it... It has to come down alot for them to even think of it. The Apex is 150lbs heavier than an XP. You going to sno-x that... Ya I know about the Nytro, but you get my point.

doo made a 1200, limit is 1050, no reduction
they cannot compete with current ISR rules

Sledfreak, you sure change your tone..this is what your were arguing against me with last year:

You hit the nail on the head... It has been reported that the sno-x nytro is very light and is the only a few lbs of the 2 smokers. Some people on here thinks there is a 50lb weight difference, but there is not. Not on the mod sled.

Maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't this sound like the supercross-m/x series?

rules say the sled must be a minimun weight of 430lbs and sno-x nytro is very light and is the only a few lbs of theof the limit. the weight is just in the wrong locating

did anyone notice the nytro won gold at x games for best trick?? back flip with a twist.....now heres the kicker.....the winner was on a borowed nytro after his 2stroke broke right before the event :4STroke:

IMO, its not the sled, maybe not the riders, but definitely the team that is the problem. I've seen alot of inconsistency in their set-ups. Put the wrenches and sledheads of T. Hibbert's team to work setting up that sled and it would have already won a championship with any top rider on it.
The sled is a winner; the team around it is lost.

If Yamaha was serious about a snowcross sled, then they'd be building 600 cc and 800 cc snowcross sleds that were twin cylinder two strokes.
