ha ha very funny, I'm from upstate ny not much accent way up here. I talked to my buddy again he meant the appex rtx. I don't really think that's a snowcross sled although you could turn it into one.I'd like to see something from yamaha that was already set up just buy it and race it.

after reading mr.sled's report I now see the nytro to be the snow cross sled. does any one know which class this would run in I'm thinking 600's.

You won't see it run in any snocross class - still carrying too much weight for racing. Not saying that it is not good for doing some ditchbanging, but a racer it is not.

WSA/ISR won't classify them. I know, I got told both on the phone and by email. So no they won't be snowcrossed. Unless you can get a local circuit to allow you entrance
However they ARE capable. When the 03 came out they had a demo at the Vernon NY races and he was hitting the triple like a 2 stroker. Even from the 03 to the 05 RX-1 the ride and suspension (and weight) has improved dramatically. The difference between the Nytro and a 2 stroker is what 60 lbs.? Tell me you can tell the difference between a full and empty tank of gas. You can't. With a bike I can, mainly from the way it will wheelie but certainly not from a sled. So the weight issue is a myth.

The weight makes all the difference in the world on a snowcross track - and I guarantee you every racer on the circuit would notice 60 lbs.
I don't mind the extra weight on RX-1 compared to my XC8 - although I can definitely feel it and it is 60 lbs.

Better tell Tomy Amasalo to quit then... He's easily 60 pounds more than Mike Island.

Didn't say anything about quiting -just telling you they can tell the difference. If Amasalo could lose 40 lbs and still ride the sled with as much strength and endurance as he does now - he'd benefit from it.

Snow cross sleds weight 425 lbs..
It would take ALOT to get the current sleds down to that ... MORE LIKE IMPOSSIBLE..
