Just picked up a 2010 nytro xtx w/ 4800km's for $6500CAD and have lots of questions...
Never riden a Nytro or any other 4-stroke for that matter so not sure what to expect. Been on doos since my SRX.
I think I got a fairly good deal, opinions? It came w/ ultra Q exhaust, tank and tunnel bags, high and low windsheilds, and a sled wrap kit. Will post pics soon.
I just changed the oil/filter in it but I forgot to warm it up first!! I realized after I started draining it and let it drain for an hour or so. Should I redo or is it fine for a season?
What other maintence should I be looking into?
Front bushings look good visually, how do you tell when they're starting to wear?
No noise from were the exhaust donuts are so I assume they'e good?
Hyflax looks good, I was told the sled has polaris idler wheels to help with wear.
How do you check the condition of the skid bearing?
Spark plugs - runs fine? Gear oil?
???
Thanks in advance, cheers

Sounds like you got a good sled. Front bushing are easy to check. Lift the front and push and pull the front a -arms. If the a-arms move you need bushings. Mine moved on the pavement. All I did was move the sled forward and back. Gear oil I just pumped it out and put amsoil back in. You probably should do the radiator fluid also.

To check exhaust donuts put a damp rag over the end of the pipe while running and the sled should stall or come close to it. Just because they sound okay doesn't mean they are in good shape (mine weren't).

To add to what has been said, raise the rear of the sled and take the tension of the track off the wheels spin them by hand, if they sound rough replace the bearings.

I wouldn't even think about changing plugs at 4800 km, no need IMO! Now if you wanted to, you could go with the cr10ek for an extra HP or 2.

Then ride it and change anything you find you don't like!

Enjoy the new sled!

grease up your skid is another thing you can do, dial in your suspension as well. You will notice that there is things you can do to improve the sled. In my opinion the best mods from best to good are... OFT Relocator kit (makes steering way easier), aftermarket skis, and HID's (got mine from DDM for $75 bucks). I've also put a mountain tech skid plate and have yamaheaters sitting ready to be installed.
