Time to revive an OLD post since I'm leaving for the UP on Monday morning. Gonna hit my favorite stretch of high speed road. All the pieces are now in place for me to shatter my own personal best speed. I now have the OD primary complete. Rebuilt both clutches with new sliders, springs, and sheaves, and rollers on the primary. Plus making 30+ more hp than my last runs. Should be interesting. Will post results as they come in. Hoping to do this Monday or Tuesday as long as conditions are good. Looking for 135 mph + on the dreameter. Should be low to mid 120's actual. All in trail setup.

Some pics of the clutch. Before OD
After OD. Not a huge difference but, should make a difference in overall shift-out and speed.
With all new parts.

Have fun and stay safe!
I think you should easily break 120mph gps in good conditions...best my Attak has ever done is 118mph GPS on a long run on icy road.

Thanks fella's. Early weather reports are for warmer condition's during the day. Have to wait and see how things play out.

Ok guys did my pass. Unfortunately no improvement over last run. Was a little disappointed given the improvement in the machine that I've made. Sled seems to hit a wall in the low 120's on the speedo and then creeps up on top speed. Still saw no more than 130 mph. 113 on the phone gps. I don't think conditions were optimum, but also don't think it has much left in it to see higher numbers. Would take some tinkering with clutching, gearing and suspension to get more out of it.
On the flip side of things, there's several Winders up here running around. Gonna see if some of them wanna play.

Snow is slow, these sleds are REALLY condition and temp sensitive. The colder and harder the running surface the better. If you want to put up an impressive number you need to get that sled on ice.

I don't dispute any of that. All I'm saying is that with 30 additional horsepower and a primary setup for OD, the sled ought to run faster is similar conditions. I'll say that it was probably 10-15 degree's warmer yesterday than on my previous run. So yes, NOT exactly the same.Snow is slow, these sleds are REALLY condition and temp sensitive. That's probably around 110-115 mph on a gpsAfter all these years it was time for an update. Same sled with a few more mods. Currently on a trip in the eastern UP. Same situation, long straight road that was good for speed. Managed 130 mph on the dreameter. Fastest speed yet. And that was completely topped out, hag nothing left. Sled continues to run extremely strong and handle well after all these years. Still wanna put the yamacharger on it though.
