Usually speedo is 2-3km/h higher than GPS
Ya my winder speedo is about 4 mph higher than my GPS,much closer than any of my apex,s
Mine is off 3 mph everytime..no speedo will be dead on due to mechanical variables but when your 10mph off that can be calibrated by good engineering!!!
Ok guys, still on my trip in the UP. Speed run over, saw 132mph on the speedo. 115 gps. That's all she had and no more. 2 mph improvement over shorter gearing, and a personal best for the sled.
Strangely enough the thing is a rocket to 125mph. Then hits a wall. Not sure if it's clutch setup or a combination of other things. But definitely feels like it has the power to do better. For a trail setup though, not too bad. Since I don't pull those speeds too often, it's not a high priority. Mainly just to talk about and bragging rights.

As a side note; my attention has turned towards extending my range and getting maximum mpg while cruising/touring. And I believe I've hit the mark. My sled is now achieving 15.5 mpg at light throttle, and based on a 10.2 gal capacity puts me at 158 mile range. Although I would never try to push it that far without backup fuel.
Also, my low fuel light went on the other night while I was within a mile of a gas station. When I topped off it only took 7.8 gallons. Meaning I still had approx 2.4 gallons left, giving me a safety net of 37 miles.
Not too shabby for modded, hi-performance, 1000cc machine.

Did you burp the tank when you filled it?
Nope, and don't know why you would need to do that on an Apex as the shape of the tank does not leave places for trapped air.

Glad you ended up keeping your sled. Thought you were on the fence about it last season. Didn't you go with gforce? Better question would be what is your current setup?
My current setup is listed on my sig. And I am still on the fence.
I absolutely love the engine performance of my sled but, that's about it.
With each passing season the suspension shows its age. On nice groomed trails it will still rail with the best of them. But, once those trails deteriorate, and they always do, the sled shows its age.
And weight has always been a concern. Even thow I've lightened the machine substantially.
So in the coming month or so, I may be making a decision on going with something new (and likely jumping ship to another brand) or continuing to dump money into an 18 year old sled in an attempt to keep it relevant for another year.
Will have to wait and see what's available for 23.
Sounds like its time for a rmotion skid thinking about doing that myself time will tell
Changing out the skid would be my other option.
I've begun to think about a Fast M20 or King Air, but those would be an even more expensive option. Just don't know how much money I wanna keep dumping into an older sled.
