The cool part about this statement is that it allows us to forget about burning up a set of Hyfax in 500 miles as many of us have done in the past!

$30-40 for a set of normal high fax needing replaced after 500 miles = $120-160 plus the headache of changing 4 times in 2000 miles
$100-130 for a set of DuPont that will likely last one season for me if not more without worrying if they wear out mid trip during a 500 mile weekend.
Ik these are just rough estimates but I would say the DuPont would be worth it based on this. At least this is how I will justify them to my wallet
I would just like to say I have not used a set yet but based on what I am reading I eventually will. I have an Excell wheel kit to put on this season and am gunna start with a normal set to judge the effect the wheel kit has for me. Then my next set will likely be DuPont.

That's exactly why I'm gunna just try the wide first with my Excell wheels and see what I get. If I get what you're getting then I probably won't spend the money on the duponts unless there is a chance I can get much more mileage out of them (like 5000 or 6000+, and I feel that is unrealistic).

I am running the duponts and pioneer wheel kit and have 3000 miles and no wear at all. I expect to get 6000 miles out of that set up. Pretty good for a Yamaha.

I still don't understand how you can come up with a supposed fix for the Hyfax eating new Apex's ('11-14 - stupidly needed in the first place on a $12,000+ sled) make them 144" long to fit an XTX, yet not run the Vespel material another 3-4" and past the last set of wheels on an XTX!! Do they think?...Maybe the same engineer that designed the problem in the first place?
After adding the front wheel marginal snow kit, a set of Excel wheels and the new Dupont Hyfax, I still have significant wear under the rear wheels. I got 1000 miles on the stock Hyfax and I might get 2000 miles on the Dupont's I put on there last season. No more than that. Change the mold and make the fix work for everyone?! Never happen. I love that sled but stuff like this from Yamaha just ticks me off.

I wonder if a guy could buy a third Dupont cut and add it to the rear? Would need to make a hole at rear with bolt to hold it but it should be a easy mod and is a few sleds out there already with the bolt at back instead of front. Sucks but it would work.
