Talked with Jim today about the adjuster. This is a good product that needs a tweak or two for the sidewinder. OSP has a good rep for making things right. I will wait and see what happens in my situation with adjuster. Not going to overreact on this one as I think the adjuster was designed for viper and now we have sidewinder with NEW ROLLER SECONDARY

How did you snap that?
Over torqued. I used 60ft lbs. Supposed to be 43ft lbs. It was going on and off several times trying to set up adjuster. Didn't know what was holding me up. On the last time I could feel the bolt stretching, at like 30lbs. Bolt just gave up.
Luckily and after I purchased an extraction bit. I started to drill out thread, and saw them spin. Basically spun out by hand.
No harm no foul.......not 100% sure on the 43ft lbs. Still need to verify.

steve, wish you could've watch the bolt spin out by hand. Which was great. Cause bolt broke inside shaft. Little pick grabbed it, spun & done!
Appreciate all your help! You're very helpful.......joe

So what is the purpose of this adjuster? To adjust the belt deflection.? Ever since I have owned 4 strokes I don't pay much attention to belt deflection because it has very little effect inmo. Do you guys think it matters on these sleds?
multi...float the driven...set the belt height easily without washers or shims ....belt change tool...and I use it to help wrap the helix twist on the machine...

I already had one of these adjusters that I kept from my viper, I bought the sidewinder one so I wouldn't have to tweak it. I looked at the video from thunder products belt adjuster tool and they remove all the shims. I had read that thunderproducts doesn't even have the shim in there because the helix moves out further than the steel secondary shaft. So is it safe adding that thin shim in that the bolt will hit when used to open clutches up all the way

And mine works perfectly...I think if a guy can't figure it out.. Watch the OSP video on YouTube

And in that video do they show anything or say anything about the thin metal washer that's in between the plastic thick washer?

nope...the metal washer is added because since then the belt changing bolt has been added...and the bolt would dig into the plastic without ; )
