I think the only way to alleviate this problem is to find a taller seat, or find a way to raise the stock seat.

The first year I found myself in the same position as you (I'm 6'2" as well) in that my knees were higher than my hips. My knees were aching at the end of a ride and I had to find an alternative.

What I ended up doing was getting a Mountain Mod seat, which not only raised my butt at least a couple of inches, but was also a firmer seat resulting in a higher seating position. My knees are now below my hips and I no longer suffer the aching in my knees afterwards. While the price might scare some ($750), it was a worthwhile investment and in fact saved me money in the long run as I was considering buying a new sled with a more comfortable seating position, ie. Rev?

Another note, try sitting on an RTX version or Mountain version of your sled. It's my understanding that these sleds have a firmer seat than that of the Attaks and maybe you can find a used one, however I believe the Mountain Mod seat is still taller.

Stick in a handlebar riser as well, 2 inches will do and no mod required for the cables.

To the other big guys who have ridden a gazillion miles with no problems, good for you but you're not helping here.

In addition to Grimm's link, other users have had good luck with Boss seats: http://www.bossseats.com/snow/seats/index.htm As others mentioned, a bar riser will also help quite a bit.

I'm 6'6" and feel the same way......the 08 Nytro has more room than any other sled period... I do find the APEX to be very tight and uncomfortable for me.

I just joined this site and based on some of the sarcastic comments I was getting at the start of this thread I was seriously thinking about cancelling my name here.
I don't need a bunch of "no legs schmucks" telling me that because they fit on a Yammy I must be a freak etc ....

I was starting to think I might be stuck buying another brand "X"....."P"

I really like yout suggestions "GRIMM" and $750 would be well worth it.
Heck, That's only about 5 trips worth of 2 stroke oil if I had to go to "X"

Now I'm starting to get excited about going "Blue" again .
Hmm.. Only 24 shopping hours till Christmas..

Yes as opposed to a sled issue as you claim. I have had 2 major knee operations and find the Yami to have the best position for them. I think Yami has done a great job with thier RX and Apex styled sleds. Congrates on them building a sled you can ride all day.

Now you seem to want it changed to an XP copy. Why? To suit your rider preference. Again a rider issue.

As suggested custom seat and forward tilting bars may allow you to ride the seat as you prefer.

Nice comment on your part! Now I'm a no leg schmuck! Well thanks for the insult! I looked over the thread and did not see anywhere in it that someone called you a freak.

I did see where you came in here and dissed Yami and praised the XP. So if you continue to find the Yami to not suit your longer legs and hump the tank style of riding I can rest knowing there is always the XP for you.

this is a funny thread.........I'm 6'6" and can honestly say I dont care about Yam or 4stroke vs 2 stroke.....I bought a Nytro because it was the best fit for my "freakish" size.......all other details came second, who cares about the details if your not comfortable.

Remember guys it's real easy to read and misinterpret someones true meaning on the web. I know Charlie (Sasquatch) and you won't find a nicer BIG guy anywhere, his intent was to help even if it did'nt sound that way. The original post hinted at and was perceived by some as a little negative toward Yamaha, on this web site that won't fly very far and you will find many that will get quite irritated with anyone that tries to do so. Sounds like it's all worked out now lets be nice and all learn from each other.

a little input here if I may. Both Nos-Pro and MrSled have gotta be a good 2 inches taller than me, they are about 6'4" +.
Neither one has ever complained or looked like they were crowded on either the Apex/Attack or FX Nytro.

There is a guy I did most of my riding with last year, a highway patrolman out of the Portage WI area. Pete is a good 6'7" and he is the first guy that I have noticed that looks a wee bit too large and cramped up on a yamaha sled. But Pete looks giant sitting on a sofa or in a truck.

Not sure if any of this helps or not. A pivoting taller handlebar riser may help too.

I'm 6'2" 228lbs. I have an Attak with a Rox 2" Pivoting Riser. It fits me well, but you might want to use a 3-1/2" Rox Pivoting Riser. The pivot is awesome because you can adjust it during your ride. It's just a matter of loosening a few screws and you can adjust it up and down at the next pit stop. I personally don't see the need for a different seat. Have you rode a rider forward sled in the past? If not, it may be that you're just not used to riding that way. It took me awhile to get used to it myself.

I dont ride standing up too much...Im fat and would like silly. But have thought of adding a piece to the bar beause at 6'2 im not comfortable the few times I do stand up. Wife at 5'9 on her apex can stand and everything is perfect for her.

heh.. Im 6'9 and find myself to have plenty of room on this sled.. I swiched off with my buddy last night n got on his old mxz700 ( old chassi) and wow.. talk about a smurf machine. as for the attack, I dont know, mabe try diffrent seating positions. seems to me this sled is big..
