North Shore (MN) or the UP

Is there anyone in the Minnesota, Wisconsin or UP area looking to get out for a ride this weekend (12/20-21)?

It sounds like the North Shore is going to get more snow Saturday and will be in good shape. I've been to the UP the last two weekends and the conditions there are great, especially north of Bergland.

If you keep your helmet on you can remain anonymous.

Because if I say "I'll be riding Angie or Jen all weekend" it sounds way, way better than saying "I'll be riding Bob all weekend".

And it's as close to having girlfriends as my wife will let me get - most days.

I was up the Northshore trail all the way up to Silver Bay last Friday. The trails left a lot of room for improvement IMHO. It was snowing so hard on Sat. that we gave up riding and headed home. I would assume things are a lot better now with the snow and a week for them to groom.

I rode 180 miles from Siver Bay to Grand Maris and back Saturday. The storm hit on my way back and at times it was snowing so hard I bet I couldn't see 20-ft, but it was fun, and I had the trail all to myself. I rode a 90 mile loop Sunday from Silver Bay to Isabella in all the fresh snow. I find the trails to be more fun when they have a little character.

I'm probably going to head to the west central part of the state for a day trip Saturday or Sunday. They have a pretty good base in the St. Cloud area and its pretty close.

Waldoch has the the Yamaha Demo Days going Saturday morning so I figure I'll toss a leg over some of the other models. Always wanted to try the Phazer GT/RTX and Apex.

I'm hoping to ride from the Brainerd lakes area up toward I Falls this weekend if the temperatures permit. The snow cover is really good from about St Cloud north.

I'll be riding on the North Shore again this weekend - 2/28 to 3/2. The conditions are expected to be good.

If only my fractured hip would permit me to ride any more this year. Conditions last weekend up in borderland were good, and I'm sure things are probably just as good if not better over towards the lake. Enjoy the riding and maybe I'll catch you next season!

If a little thing like a fractured hip is going to keep you from riding out this season, maybe it's time to think about turning in your He-Man Club card.
