NOS kit

Doesn't look like the 10lb seat woudl ever happen, here is teh response from boss:

Hi Jesse, right now we can only make what we have patterns for, that would
be our highrise seat (about 3" taller) and the NOS pouch is big enough for a
2 1/2 alum bottle and in some cases you can fit a 5 lb carbon fiber. We are
not making custom seats anymore so we couldn't do anything bigger. Also we
can do the NOS pouch only if you removed the exhaust (we can also do an
"under" the seat pouch but I'm not sure we could fit a 10 lb bottle, got to
try).
Thanks.
Gus.

wHAT ABOUT A STOCK SEAT and take the foam out for a 5 lb bottle. The way I drive, 2.5 will not last long. Hopefully I can start my nos in a couple of weeks.

How about a excell exhaust then strap a 2.5 lb bottle on each side where the exhaust outlets used to be :)

I don't know if there is enough room for a bottle in the stock seat I can get some measurments from my 10lb'er.

I live about 5 miles from BOSS and I stopped in to chat and the guys there had no clue what I was talking about? They said that their seat my fit a 5lb carbon fiber like you said and they let me look at one the pouch is nice and roomy but the guy didn't know exactly which sled the seat was for. Apex or RX1? The guy you need to talk to is gone for the day. I may check back in with them again when I get a chance.

Nice job on install, lots of room to grow there newbie, 13 mph is nothing :)

Once you get her dialed in expect 30-40mph gain!

Have fun all summer dreaming for white again, that is what I did all last summer and got to run one 1 bottle through mine, that 20 seconds made up for a summer of waiting though! LOL

Dan, Great Job.

I think you are probably bouncing off the rev limiter. It's hard to watch the tach at 118 MPH. But, I'll bet that it was hitting the limiter. I know that with stock clutching in mine, I could watch the tach "bounce" from 11,200 down to 10,800 and back and forth at top speed. I also was getting about 118 MPH with stock clutching.

Kinger, I still want to keep my trail rideable....but, talk to me about 30 - 40 mph. I would be really happy with 25.

IT all depends how big a shot you want and what your geared at. Right now i have the 25T top gear and a 80hp NX shot (I sa nx because they gurantee that much power)

Off the bottle I rev at 10,000 on the bottle I rev at 11,100. Same day test showed 105 on dream o meter then 140 on bottle or 35 mph according to that inaccurate speedo. I don't consider mine a dog of the the bottle it feels like a vector or 700-800 2 stroke. Its a little less snap then stock or someone that has geared down but the trade off is worth it NOTHING can keep up with me unless you have a turbo/SC and since I'm the only 4 stroke in our pack I'm king of the hill, race, whatever they want to lose in :)

If you want to run as big a shot Ulmer might have a controller that will bump the rev limiter up so you can stay in the right rpm off the bottle and maintain stock snap but on the bottle blwo everyone away. Best of both worlds, I don't have that option with the RX1 at least I don't think so anyway.

Kinger,

I can get the 80HP easy enough. That is not a problem. Raising the rev limiter would be awesome. i haven't seen anything to do that yet.

I currently run stock gearing at 24/38. I am considering changing to 26/38. I have Ulmer Clutch kit and right now it is running about 10,400 off the NOS. I still occassionally hit the limiter on the Nos. I might add some tip weight this summer to bring it down a bit...unless I can raise that rev limiter.

Do you think changing gearing to 26/38 would bring my RPM down to 10,000 off the gas?

I have one of cpr box that advances the timing and then retards the timing at higher rpm. The rev limiter is set at 13000. I don't know details becuase he didn't tell me exactly. Call jeff and find out the details. It is for sale for 400 shipped in us.

Blue,

That sounds pretty sweet. Is your sled an RX-1? I will call Simon's...but, do you think that box will work on an Apex?

Also, Do I know you? I grew up in Johnstown but don't live there any more... Wayne Stoutner
