Spent the day today working on the sled. Installed Tuner skis with the 4-inch 2-inch carbide setup, low profile black windshield, Montana 600 GPS, HID lights, billet fuel cap for bling, and the removable RTK Titan Touring Seat (wife made me do it, something about spending time with the kids this winter?). I'm now headed into the garage to sit on my machine and wait for the flakes to fly!

I hear ya bud , can't wait for the white stuff too.
Great looking machine by the way .

Keep us updated on that seat. I have looked into them would like to hear how comfortable they are.

LET IT SNOW!

Thanks, I'll definitely keep you posted. Seat plus storage is 50lbs, 11yo daughter is 80lbs...I'm afraid that extra 130lbs over the tail is really going to unbalance my suspension and handling setup. Well I guess I'll trade off some handling for some priceless time with the kids on the trails.

Do you guys have a large number of riders using the indicator light (sorry I forgot the name of it). I always thought it was a good idea, it just never caught on around here, I think I've seen one of two in the last five years.

Nice sled, too. One of the best moves Yamaha made in esthetics on the Apex was to move the seat completely above the tunnel and redo the rear exhaust. Plus it should help eliminate the tunnel wear that the old style had.

If you haven't used the GPS yet, you will love it, once I had mine I would never go without.

The indicator light is the Ride Lite

http://www.communicationsafetysystem.com/home.php

Allows me to safely keep both hands on the bars and effectively communicates with oncoming sleds. I've got it hard wired down the column and tied into the back of the DC power outlet. It will be my second season with it and will not be without one in the future.

I've had them on my sleds for several years. I rarely encounter anyone else on the trails I ride (central Wis) that has one. Many people ask about it not knowing what its for.

I think its a fantastic idea and wish it would catch on. Since most everyone on the trails have no clue what our lights are indicating, I end up taking my left hand off the grip to signal whats behind me anyway.
