went riding came back to gas up . the sled wont turn over , just click sounds at the sylonid now a code 12 is blinking and the bottom yellow left side is on and on the right it has a engine in a box blinking, i have a nytro 2009 -1050 hp. 121 track , can i reset the code to go back to my fun times, i also bought a new battery and a cylanoid, nothing just a one click sound, starter wont turn over, and i have 12.7 in the battery. any help will help

not sure of the code 12 but the starter relay is under the headlight support to the right....many have had problems starting only to find the starter relay had moisture in it...a tap tap tap or a new one from napa and they start...

I know all of us 08 Nytro owners had problems with our starter relays. Wish I could point it out for you, but I had the dealer change it for me. Sounds like the same problems your having.

Boys put some dielectric grease on the top of the relay and your problems should go away. You obviously need to do this before it gets wet. #*$&@ design on the nytro the side vent is right over top of it so the snow can get in on it. You'LL see the wires going into it (very exposed), I've also heard some guys making a rubber flap.

There is a XLS file download for Nytro error codes on the site someplace.
I printed it off.
Code - 12
Crankshaft Position Sensor
No Normal Signal from sensor.

wonder why yamaha wouldnt have them covered??

what about banding a piece of prefilter material over the block?

Is the solenoid under the headlight, by the tool kit or is it close to the little fuse box on the side?

I have heard both places.

relat code 12

well i found 4 relays in a row, by the looks of it 3 out of 4 are the samm and ond od one, now i;m gong to call yamaha and see how much for the relay, thanks for all your help, still no start just a clicking noise,

If its clicking, it doesn't sound to me like the solenoid isn't working. Is it one click, or several if you hold the key to start?

The other thing I read with the solenoid is, you can pull it and use a lighter or body heat to thaw it out.

But, it could all have something to do with the crank sensor. I am guessing these things fire the spark plugs off the crank timing. If so, it may not let it turn over is this sensor is screwed up. Just guessing though.

relay

well it started today we had to jump the white to the blue wire, to get it started, now we are waiting for a relay from yamaha shop, and napa didnt have one, now it started that the good part, thanks again for all the help from you guys,

It is the solenoid right in front of the oil tank. If you turn the key to crank position and jump the two big copper posts on the solenoid it will likely start. It will also start if you warm the solenoid with a blow dryer or something like was said earlier in this topic. The code 12 comes from the crank position sensor because it senses crank position on the key but does not see any engine RPM.

Got the same Error 12 yesterday when trying to start the Nytro after 2months under the cover, much frosting on the snowmobile.
At first it just didn't crank, no clicking, no error, then after another try the "12" apeared.
Reading this forum, borrowing the Misses hairdryer and blowing around, specialy on the starter solenoid.
After a while it started to click every time I tryed to start, some more tapping and heating, and it turned the engine: Error 12 gone.
When it cooled down a bit it went back to just clicking, re-heated and it started.
Drowe down to the dealer and got a new one on the warranty :)
The Tech there said that if it happens out in the field you should be able to loosen the solenoid by repeatedly turning the key to start-possision, or you can pull it out and heat it with your hands.
Pardon my english writing :)
