My exhaust flex pipe on this sled is broke. I heated the exhaust manifold bolt but it still sheared off. Can any tell me about how long the bolts are before I drill too far?
For reassembly, one of the studs was broken off from the previous owner. I can drill out the top bolt but the bottom I can’t get the correct angle. If I use some type of gasket sealer and just use one bolt will it work? Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Bummer, I recomend you fix it correctly. May take longer but in the end you won't have any other problems.

Take the rear motor mount bolt out of the chassis, and tilt the engine forward to get the clearance needed to drill.

Kurt...good idea. I wasn’t aware it would tilt forward. Just need to remove the air box or is there anything more that needs to be pulled to rotate it?
Thanks -Jason

Does the rear engine mount just unbolt from the right side of the sled (as if sitting on it)? Do you just drive the bolt out or is a special tool needed?

I saw the diy tool. I'm assuming the tabs lock into the right side (after you remove the nut) on the rear engine mount bolt?

Built the tool to turn the cog (I think that’s what it is). Whats the trick to getting the bolt out? It appears to be really stuck in there. Anyone have a copy of the service manual? I would guess it shows how to remove it?

Leave the nut or " cog" on the end of the bolt. Use a jack to pick up a bit on the engine to take the weight of the bolt. Tap the bolt out from the nut end. Take the nut off . The bolt will be out far enough to pull it out.

That bolt won’t budge. I’ve soaked the mounts with PB Blast. With the nut screwed on flush with the end of the bolt, using a solid pipe and 3lb sledge it won’t move. I did put a jack under the motor to take the weight off. Any ideas how to unseize the bolt? I don’t dare put a torch down there with the Starter so close.

You need to heat the bolt. One of these will do the job. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PCMRRFZ/ref=dp_cerb_3
I have a similar one, works great . You can get a nut or bolt red hot without damaging other things near it. Using a breaker bar, try to move the bolt back and forth while it's hot. Be patient, it will break loose. Once you can turn it, you can drive it out.

We got it out. Some heat and several hard blows from a 3lb sledge. The bolt shaft was corroded pretty good. We were also able to tilt the motor forward enough to drill and tap the exhaust bolts.
Thanks all for the helpful info!
