Can I remove the foot holds on a nytro MTX with out making the boards weaker. I was kicking some ice build up last year and I slipped and hit the top of my foot on the foot hold. It took months before it was not tender. I hate those things.

Yes you can remove them. I took mine off after hearing the advise from a fellow TY'er. He told me it was safer for mountain riding, as it reduces the chances of getting your foot hung up in the foot well and twisting your ankle if you happen to roll the sled on a side hill.

So you never seen any signs of weakness after removal.

No signs of weakness or stress. I should add that I'm not a big guy (approx. 170lbs) and that I don't do any jumping. I will stand on one side with both feet fairly often though. But as a general rule I'm not real hard on running boards if that helps.

I am going to pull them anyway. Just thinking about that bar I can actually feel the top of my foot hurting. It took months before it was not tender to the touch. Probably cracked something, who knows.
I am heavy enough to keep me planted in the seat or the boards. When I fall off I don't want to be dragged along.
